What's your TECHNO setup

just got myself an mpc live 2; it looks like it’s gonna take over the funtions of several other devices and has -within 2 weeks- become my centre console

I’ve always had and loved MPC’s I now have the MPCX as the centre hub and it’s amazing. The MPC Live looks fab too, enjoy :+1:

I appreciate you taking the time to listen!!!
Thanks

There are a few other bits of kit in the setup but lately I’ve been focusing on OT, RYTM, Avalon, Micromonsta & Tetra. The synths are run through the OT for fx (MM gets stereo) and then OT & RYTM outputs get summed and straight to the monitors, no mixer needed. The MIDI is simple and whole lot would fit in a small case about 75x50cm so an easy live rig too.

Plus, everything is black

Ugh. Just noticed that the Zoom H2n is cutting off very low frequencies. I didn t notice for a while but now working on a track with a deep 808 style, long decay bass drum, it s definitely loosing low extension.

Was so happy to not have to turn on a laptop to record… And now that i have something in the xone:96’s main bus inserts i can t use its USB interface to record the full mix. Have to add my Motu interface too. A&H, what a mistake to put the master USB send before the inserts… :rage:

Look into the zoom F6.

That s the 32bit one isn t it? Have seen it, but i actually use the H2n mostly as a field recorder and the F6 doesn t have built-in mics. Sadly.

Yea that’s the one. You’ll need a stinger carrying case and mic to go along with it to go out and field record. Let me tell you the quality is worth the extra hassle. This recorder is a beast in the studio also. You’ll get super clean recordings with a ton of headroom.

I really rate this video and approach. I’m coming around to the idea that once I sequence a cool sound from an external synth or the modular, it gets sampled into an OT audio track for making a track there. Then the MIDI part gets muted, but remains in case anything needs adjusting.
Then just play Rytm & OT samples, plus the MPC providing master clock and finger drums :vulcan_salute:

These are both fantastic.

I minimized my techno setup to be fully portable and kind of lightweight. Digitakt, Octatrack + Faderfox PC4

which monitors?

How do you have the Faderfox set up to pull its strings?
Been thinking about one lately to avoid a bit of menu diving on my Digitakt.

Also

Come on, how CAN you let the Erica bassline NOT be in this setup???
