What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

202 is a totally different workflow. I think it has the best natural sound of all SP’s but I’m biased! Love the effects too, wish it had the 303 reverb though. Did it come with a memory card?

Unfortunately no. Gotta track one down. Waiting on a power supply to get here tomorrow.

Oh man they’re so expensive it’s ridiculous, so glad mine came with a card when I got it. I hope you can source one for a decent price.

Power supply is pretty standard 9v C- guitar pedal supply, but if you got the boss, line regulated supply, it might have less line noise. You already know some of that older roland gear is sensitive to the supply type

Jesus. The card is more than what I paid for the unit. Looks like drum one shots only. :stuck_out_tongue:

Actually, it’s not as bad as you’d think. You can really only use the effects when playing back sounds from the device memory so when i’m just jamming with some loops I got strategies for working around the memory limitations. When you’re ready to start messing with it shoot me a pm or something.

Honestly, one shots are not where the 202 shines. I have defintely used one shots jamming or sequencing externally, but i dont feel like they’re the ideal use for the 202 workflow (if you can call it that) considering that it’s a loop sampler. Definitely find your own flow with it, but if you want I can share some stuff that helped me.

My partner and I are both tech people, but we connected because we both appreciate things beyond just technology - particularly art.

Here’s to you finding someone special who appreciates your interests :beers:

(She doesn’t like most of my sound-art, but is happy that I enjoy making it. It isn’t necessary or even desirable to have perfectly overlapping interests)

Hi all, this is my first post here, I’m new to the Elektron universe having just bought a Digitakt II. I’ve had a SH4d for a year now, great sounds but CC midi mapping is a pain in FL Studio, as they are always forgotten, unresponsive and not useable over all 5 channels. If anyone has a fix, I’d love to hear your advice.

Welcome @Swaheeley ! Excellent question. We have a thread just for the SH-4D around here, I think you will get better answers about this there:

Thanks! I actually didn’t know it came in that color scheme and thought it was a skin.

From what I understand black and yellow the alternate og color scheme that was sold in Japan.

I remember there was a Roland sponsored battle on sp forums with Mr dibiase winning it if I remember corrrectly. The prize was the alternate face plate black and yellow.

Woah! That’s rad. Found it on Guitar Center’s site and snagged it because it was in good condition, $200, and I had stuff to trade in that made it free. Haha!
