What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

NFC talk reminds me of how I plan to get me a Flipper Zero some day, but I’m afraid of what I would end up doing with it :flushed:

Stick to digitones so I don’t see you getting arrested on one of those hacking crackdown videos.

Upgraded from Ableton Live 11 -> Live 12, my singular BF purchase.

I’m surprised at how many welcome additions there are bumping just 1 version, it’s really nice.

I’ve just upgraded from Live 11 Intro to Live 12 Standard. I trialled the Suite version but I came to the conclusion that I (still) don’t care much for Max4Live and that the additional Suite-only instruments and FX are the least interesting parts of it.

I’m want to dig deeper with the new browser/tagging stuff and all the most interesting FX (and the new MIDI tools) are in Standard anyway. I literally had £133 in my Paypal account and the Thomann price was £133, so I took that as a sign…

I’m also a bit annoyed with Bitwig lately, I can’t stand the v5 browser changes and as much as I love noodling in the Grid I never actually get any useful results. I figure for £133 I can try something different. I have all the best VST synths (Current, Hive, Phase Plant, Repro and more) so the Grid and Bitwig modulators have become a bit redundant. I also have an APC40 MK2 which I can dust off and play with.

Long story short, thought it might be time to change workflow/tools a bit just to keep my interest up.

Oh, how unexpected that comment finds me. Thank you!

I got it as a tiny 4-leaf cutting and basically just let it grow. They don’t need much. Too much water, too much warmth in winter can do harm … hope you’ll try it again!

U-he Repro 5 expanding the analog polyphony from my ST. Great emulation of the Prophet sounds. It sounds soo analog and good!

Love all things U-he

U-He are a class act and I genuinely believe this is one of the best VST synths that money can buy. It’s a great analogue emulation but the top-notch FX and extra modulation mean it’s got a really wide range. And it’s dead easy to use, much easier than most modern “super synth” VST.

Yeah, U-he did a fantastic job with all the small settings + FXs. Chose Repro over Diva.

Yeah Takamine acoustics are lovely. My friend had one (maybe a G series too IIRC) and it was so easy to play and stayed nicely in tune, easy to fret and could be bright or dark depending on playing technique. I’ll consider acquiring one actually since my current acoustic guitar is not great and doesn’t inspire me to play it.

I battled through the temptation to get an EssenceFM Mk2 and instead got:

  • Modwave Native
  • a vacuum cleaner (but a nice one)

Cheap Black Friday this year. I don’t want anything new before utilizing the few remaining bits after downsizing.

This arrived few minutes ago. Scored a b-stock, so I added the pouch as well. Intentions is to make something on my rides to work and probably on lunch breaks. The good ones will be ported to DAW and developed further… Unfortunately it didn’t arrive yesterday - I had a train trip this morning, it would have been great initialization. I listened to some factory content so far - sounding great. Exploration has to wait until tomorrow as I need to do something else now…
