It’s a really nice mic - back when everyone was doing podcasts first time around, I used one alongside a procaster on my podcasting/broadcasting set up to really good effect. I tended to use the procaster (with a fethead boost) when it was just me, as it had a nice resonance to it that (imo) complemented my speaking voice. But both of them were so much better quality than anything I’d used before, and just remarkably cheap for what you get.

What people really mean when they say “I’m back in the box”.

Yeah, first impressions are really good already (especially compared to what I had to work with before) but I have yet to really put it through its paces with some proper processing

One of THE classic machines

Classic. Transwave is such a cool feature (sample loop window manipulation).

Waveboy FX floppies were so ahead of their time.

That screen is an invitation! I’ve started many great sessions taking that message as a challenge.

My first sampler was an EPS back in the late 80s. Still have one of those, as well as a 16+ I bought for $100 (it wasn’t working. It cost less than $1 to repair).

The Voder is still quite special.

It’s funny that you say this because every time I turn off my zoom handheld recorder and it says “bye” I feel like it’s being condescending or mocking me.

Ha! I’m with you!

Both the L-8 and the H1n add an insulting See You after good bye!

It literally reads like “see ya, loser!” or like the “jackass!” guy from Happy Gilmore.

Another Ensoniq classic. Is it really calibrating, or is this a jab at my lack of keyboard skills?

Vermona PERfourMER MKII

I made an amazing deal in this. Only 3 month old and full warranty etc and it’s on brand news condition. Only made it bleep and bloop so far and that’s probably my plan with it going forward as well

Sold some gear so when this came up in a listing it was too good to be true since my plan was to sell some stuff you need to program to get more of a one know per function kind of thing. I as also eying the Cascadia but this one came first.

It’s the CV/Gate version
