What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 3)

I tried it in Digital Performer as well. There it seems it works as expected. The CPU usage meter drops significantly when the “Multicore” is switched on. But on the other hand the UI behaves strangely here. Can’t switch the modules or effects freely… Strange. I would probably use it mainly in Bitwig anyway. The thing I meant earlier was the “Plugin hosting mode”, but now I am not sure, because I think it is RAM related, not CPU…

My old carriage has died after a long life.
Well, forward a century, I found a good fairly recent opportunity.
It parks itself, the sound isn’t bad, It has ninja star-shaped wheels, what else ?

How many voices has it got?

i’ve only tested in Ableton 12 on pc (i9 11900k with 32gb ram) and my mac mini (m2 pro 10 core with 16gb ram) and it seems like it helps on PC but doesn’t do much on mac and makes performance worse so i leave it off on that computer. no UI lockups on either setting on either machine

Same. So badly.

and I missed the sale and only had funds for one more item. Zero regrets as Perkons solves the missing puzzle of my music production equation. Now I can produce cyberpunk, darkwave, synthwave, industrial/EBM music with ease. It was hard to do so before Perkons and Hexdrums.

Absolutly no idea…

Well played CBA. The double whammy of a BF discount and a limited colourway broke my defences.

Intentions:

  • feed Mood mkII with Syntrx in my drone setup for stereo weirdness
  • move Mood mkI to my analog techno setup for mono weirdness
  • sync all the delays to all the bleeps

Don’t use multicore in Diva on silicon macs. Everything is explained in manual.

Thanks, I just got Diva and that’s really good to know since I use both intel linux and arm mac with bitwig which has those sandboxing options.

I got this used cascadia for €1000 about 2 weeks back

in a typical me fashion, i initially wanted a 101 for silly acid lines but couldn’t find one in a decent condition worth splurging for, tried the roland s-1 & sh-01a but really couldnt stand the mini jacks, and somehow ended up with this as it was listed way under the usual price. i’d love to have the grey one but hey you cant have everything

looking back, i probably shouldve gotten the atlantix as it probably suits my need more and it’s a one big sweet spot machine (this thing is definitely not), but im actually having so much fun with it. that said i have no idea what im doing most of the time

so yea, i got my a fancy ass acid machine and made my life a lot more complicated than it should be

Sounds like you’re in the optimal discovery zone since that thing can be reigned in more easily than a fully modular system. Great going.

Brilliant.
The mild 155 hp hybrid is a real pleasure (be warned, it’s thirstier than advertised), and the attention to detail for the occupants is meticulous; a worthy replacement for the sadly discontinued Volvo station wagons.
For example, the designers installed an automatic removable plastic strip that covers the “tip of the doors” on oppening so as not to scratch the car of the neighbor in the parking lot and one’s own… lots of details like that.
Ideal for navigating with family on the somewhat tricky roads of our lovely small “mountains”.

we can swap if you’re in France!

So at the end I bought Diva licence. Demo seemed to work fine in Bitwig on my laptop. I think I needed something inspiring and this sounds like it should be. Almost added the ACE as well, but resisted. Don’t want to be overwhelmed at once. And the other thing is I rewatched some Hive tutorials and came to the conclusion I didn’t dig deep enough with that one.

Congrats! The JP oscillator emulation is so nice insta 90s trance. Thanks to the others for all the recommendations on the multicore stuff :revolving_hearts:

Just got a Morningstar MC8 to control my pedal board. Took a while to reconfigure the board to fit it and cable everything up, but so worth it! Super easy to integrate the HX Stomp, Enzo, and Mood MKII along with expression coming from one of the mini Dunlop volume pedals and the envelope follower of the Autodialer.

Ah nice. I ordered the M8 Pro and switcher for my pedalboard and look forward to having a switcher again (but not the cabling up!)
