Bought these cheap little USB-powered lights to, well, light up my room so I can make videos. Trying to keep track of my practice through vids.

Just arrived today “JoMox MBase 11
Wish I’d remembered to order a 9v UK plug  This one came with a German one. Oh well got one ordered so can’t test this out tonight. Had an MBase 11 back in 2020 missed it so much so got another one to hook up with Digitakt II… I guess I’m sorted for some bad ass Kicks now. Also I’ll be able to control 16 parameters of the MBase 11 within Digitakt II. Happy days :ok_hand:

How does the MBase compare to the bass drum creation of the Nord Drum or the Syntakt?

Sorry for your neighbors!
Jomox Bassdrums are earth shattering @aizoyurei

its teacher appreciation week so i got a Patchwerks gift card from the room parents. glad Patchwerks is still kicking, i picked up my order from their new location which is just a house in Frellard area. they were hosting an Ableton class, it was a really cool spot to visit.

i picked up a used Meng Qi Wingie2! its dope, so far i’ve enjoyed going on a walk at night while listening to the ambient noise through the mics, i ran the Yoto story telling box through it at my school, the kids were kinda weirded out by it but some of them liked it. this morning i found that its great to have in a little side setup with the s1 and p6. i recorded this into the m8.

My two latest purchases were both QOL: tuning for my piano and OLED screen for the AnalogKeys. First time I’m trying out this setup and I’m kind of into it

I need to find a new school

Just copped this bag to lug around my hefty ass MPC Live 2. Fits that box, my laptop, iPad, Centrance Mixerface, SM58 mic, bunch of cables with room to spare. Great compartments. Waterproof and very robust stitching. Great value imo.

Just don’t try to make a 4 mile cycling trip downtown with it on your back like I did. Bruhhhhh!:weary::man_facepalming:t4:

How did they know what to get you?

the Room Parent Representatives passed out fliers to all the teachers a few years back asking where we like to shop in town, what treats we like, etc. its a very thoughtful process and i do appreciate them! so now i get a Patchwerks gift card for a $150 or so once or twice a year.

Not actually my latest purchase, but I just retrieved it from the country to which I had it sent. Intention: to figure out what the heck it does.

I pretty much understand the panel but it’s my knowledge of music theory that is lacking. Note in particular the secondary functions under the C/Tran button (modal shift, and circle of fifths transformations) expanding the 36 prime form scales (C#/SCLl button) into 343 scales (times their 12 transpositions). Sheesh. (Very twelve-tone-centric, though.)

Can you please elaborate me on how you like the vpme.de precision adder beside it?
Iam currently searching for a cool way of transposing or lets say controllable randomization of melodies. I do a lot with Sapels section of these functions plus a seq switch and being able to subtract oct or semitones instead of just adding seems a creative idea.
Iam a little bit torn between the vpme and the AJH. But the vpme seems more „playable“ and hands on with its switches instead of potis of the AJH. Or are there others i should check out?
I also can imagine that having 3 inputs would be great (for example one=original pitch, two=sapel yellow eventualy cause coming from a seq switch, three=sapel green but subtracted; just the first idea i can think of, something in this direction).

Just want to hear some opinions on the T43 that would be helpful, thanks beforehands!

I’m super interested to hear you review of it once you’ve had some time to absorb it!

I wasn’t aware of the AJH Minimod. It seems like it has more capabilities, but it depends how easy it is to dial in an offset on those pots. If they have indents, it might be easier. But I suspect they do not. The T43 has a nice snap to its switches, but you have to be able to do the mental arithmetic if you are at configuration A and want to switch to configuration B. For that reason I don’t tend to get too far off the beaten path. For Sapèl I bought 333, but I don’t feel the need to subtract with it. I don’t think I’ve ever used all three inputs of T43 at once.

One of the reasons T43 is next to SIG is that SIG has a tendency to wander too high or too low, and it’s awkward to steer it in the right direction, and it is slow to respond. If SIG is driving something with an octave knob/switch, I can adjust there, but most of my oscillators don’t have that (Bastl Pizza is the only exception).

I’ll write it up for FIMS eventually; I’ll try to remember to let you know when I publish that.
