Thanks for your reply. When you say “quite a bit of time” what do you mean?
oh man I wish that I still had my C64 from high school days! Taught myself BASIC programming, and gaming was super fun.
Revealing some of yourself in that picture. I love the b&w picture of Madonna.
you don’t need those books… just get ahold of Dennis Morrow, grand master of meth
Latest purchase (actually a trade): Microfreak
Other recent purchases from Japan:
- Three Macross Valkyries
- Zelda edition Switch controller
The 'Freak overlaps heavily with the Hydra, but the small size makes it a useful and fun tabletop device. And I was able to trade it for a few Euro modules to someone who will definitely use them, so a win overall.
Plans: make strange sounds, dream of space!
Edit:
Probably will add the hihat and kick pedal at some point. Seems like a good deal for what it is.
NUX is cheap but they got good stuff as well. came with a bag, sticks and everything. Lets see how long it will hold up.
Modules varied in difficulty a bit, easiest (passive mults) took me 20 minutes or so. The most complex ones took me around 1.5 hours each. Then a bunch in between.
So probably 20 to 25 hours in total, give or take, depending on how experienced you are soldering and troubleshooting. I did it over 3 weeks, maybe a couple of modules on a few weeknights, and 2 to 3 over a weekend.
I think the guy that makes the kits has a video (sped up) where he builds everything in 5 hours or so…but that’s way beyond me.
Thanks, that helps a lot.
Ah man, I haven’t seen a 5.25 floppy disc in probably twenty years. I can still hear the sound the cpu makes when you insert one.
That’s a road I’d rather not travel down. Growing up in Arizona has allowed me to see my fair share of casualties of those who have. They more look at the chemistry of psychedelics. The lab one is giving me “Anarchist Cook Book” vibes, so not entirely sure of its validity, as the Cook Book was filled with a lot of Bullshit that wasn’t actually true.
Found at a vintage fair in Whitby this weekend. The most full-featured, over-engineered Stylophone ever built. Features include divide-down oscillators (sounds like square, pulse, and saw) with stackable octaves; a primitive D-beam controller for the wah wah effect (a LPF), amplitude envelopes, and a two-step arpeggiator!
Intentions - other than posting on here, no idea whatsoever. CV and gate mods probably way beyond my capabilities
Looks killer!
Worth it just for that manual cover
i want what they have
My partner said, “They just edit in each new product, right?” and then “James Acaster gets his first synth”.
A key party?
Bought an Ipad pro Holder stand 8 in 1 hub from aliexpress.
This stand has 3.5 aux out, usb-c port for midi in/out and sd card/ pd charger port.
Works amazing. A nice mini studio.
I use it together with the deluge to extend the deluge with more synth power. Just create a midi clip on the deluge, have the synth app on the ipad retrieves the midi and output it over 3.5 aux to the input of the deluge for recording an audio clip.
I keep thinking about getting this stand.
hpv?
