Sorry to dredge up an old thread, but did you have any problems getting in touch w/the folks at Acidlab? After your post back in April I reached out to them a couple of times about a Miami purchase and never heard back.

well when i ordered they said they would be away for a bit over summer and to order ASAP so maybe he’s away still. I think maybe worth shooting over another email as they’re probably getting back to building soon

After more than a 3 year wait, my email finally arrived to purchase a Cirklon V2. I also added the CVIO and walnut wood check options.
I presently do not have a need for the sequencer. Its use was intended to enhance the workflow of my Techno side projects, which are on hold indefinitely to focus on my R&B main projects. Time is too limited for both at this point in life.
With that said, things might change in the future and I do not care if it sits idle.

i bet cirklon can do R&B.

Yep, it most definitely can.
However, I mostly produce R&B on a DAW, since there are lots of vocal, guitar, and other audio tracks involved. I do have a R&B DAW-less setup where the Akai MPC Keys 61 is the central hub to record audio and control other workstations/synths. The basic MPC sequencer more than suffices, as most MIDI tracks are straight recorded and not manipulated. Overall, the setup is mainly used to create demos when I am not in the mood to turn on the PC, but not finished products.
For Techno, since it is primarily MIDI and sample-based, I go 100% DAW-less and the Cirklon would be a solid workflow boost. Maybe less so now compared to when my name was added to the wait list. The Hapax has filled the sequencer void quite well. It does what I need, but the Cirklon is a dream piece of gear.

You a professional I’m guessing? It really cool to hear someone doing music that ranges from R&B to techno. Setup looks lovely.
Since we’re here: I’m slowly working my way up to getting a knobby poly synth module/desktop. Haven’t had one ever - only an A4 (oh and Digitone way back) as poly (wouldn’t call it knob per function) and some mono synths.
You’ve got a good few there:) Care to advise for a first one for techno (the textural/loopy/stabby kind, not very melodic), somewhat budget oriented? I’m sure the OB6 is amazing, but how about Peak vs Rev2? (Or is that another Prophet?)
Just curious to talk some gear, of course it’s all in the ear of the beholder etc.
I literally handed the FedEx guy the box containing my just-sold Roland RE-201 Space Echo before he handed me the box containing this:
so far, I’m really stoked on it. the Reverb in the 201 seems a bit darker and longer to me. but using the guitar level setting with a synth gets this there. the echos are pretty spot on though. I always loved the sound of the 201 but disliked other things: form factor, very finicky about levels (had to use a re-amping box with it, for synths), and it periodically requires new tape and maintenance. this avoids all of that, and adds memory and tap tempo. so far I like it better than my Strymon El Capistan as well. this is much closer to the original.

How are you getting on with the Mackie I just ordered an Onyx 12 from gear for music it should come today - I’m not 100% sure about it as I would also like to try the Tascam model 12 - have you had any problems with it, how has the experience been in term of interfacing with the computer and most importantly how is the sound ?

MiaW Beaks (through hole PWM MI Peaks) full kit. It was the first project I’ve done for quite some time, but soldering worked surprisingly well and everything works!
Intention is to modulate stuff and to look at it and think to myself “Huh, that looks really cool, doesn’t it?”

All of my current and past synths are desktop modules or something with mini keys like Microfreak.
I decided this is the time to buy THE synth, something big and top-tier, to use it as my main sound design tool for years.
I just barely scratched the surface of its capabilities but I love the sound and ergonomics already.

Awesome! Love seeing another person join the Summit club. I play mine almost every day and I’m excited every single time I turn it on. Make sure it’s updated to the latest firmware so you can use the dedicated envelopes for the Animate buttons!

It was shipped with 1.4.3, so I updated as soon as I unpacked the synth.
Not sure about animated envelopes, but stereo options, noise as a cutoff modulator, and lo-fi delay are awesome!
I’m excited how alive the filter is. Much better than any demos I’ve seen.

The filter is absolutely bananas when you start digging into what it can do, especially in combination with the three drive stages. Don’t sleep on the Animate buttons, they are critical to getting the most out of the synth.
