What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 2)

Nice!! I think I need one of those to accompany my Source Nemesis delay. I’ve been looking for a good reverb lately. I ALMOST loved my Night Sky, but it was just slightly too much shimmer oriented, where I wanted that as a possibility, but not the main focus. I just want a good sounding reverb, with some extras to play with. I didn’t know the Mercury X existed.

Just made a quick one as a test the Mercury X

I think you can’t be disappointed with this one (Mercury X). The Meris LVX (its Delay siblings) sounds fantastic. Have you considered the Ventris Dual Reverb?

I will now

I’m just tentatively looking around. I really like my delay, so just looking to add good reverb to go with it. I’ll check all of these out.

I don’t want to over react because I’ve only spent about an hour with it, but this shit is incredible. That AI patch creater they’ve added is actually really impressive.

@simonbradford You in the UK? There’s a guy on eBay who makes his own that will fit the DT/DN/ST (not AH).
Really good quality imo offering just as much protection as a deck saver for half the price. They fit a little tighter, always found deck savers to be a bit loose. Quite like the black Vader/stealth look as well.

Also makes them for the TD3. I got a smiley version off him that he might have some left of

Thanks, it looks clean…
But I am not in the UK and I have already had serious disappointments with imports since Brexit, I avoid buying from the other side of the channel now, the delusional protexionism has won.

More weird tat I got off the internet:

Simmons SDE FM-based percussion expander, apparently used by Autechre. More crazy for the sample library.

Dreadbox Typhon - like a mini modular that sounds great. Cleared all the presets to really get to learn it. USB audio is a bonus too.

Akai Z8 sampler. Shares an engine with the MPC4000, reads FAT32 drives, got some interesting filters and a pretty cool removable control panel (though sanity demands using Ak.sys). What will Ak.sys run on? Well, old samplers demand old computers…

Wow I was wondering of their were any competitors to the desk savers. I’ll have to check these out.

I’ll take a pic with the flash off next time :joy:

In all seriousness though, I do like this and have put an order in for one, so will have to put up my black DT once it arrives as I have no desk space for two of them.

100%, got that stand on wheels (On-Stage MIX-400 V2) a few days ago to use it anywhere around the house. Perfect to record / loop guitar straight out of the pedalboard whenever an idea pop up.

Only need a MIDI foot controller now, but the good ones are either shipped from across the globe with bad custom and shipping fees, or just out of stock and nowhere to be found (Morningstar MC8 for instance).

Yeah it’s really that color that triggered the purchase of one of those new MPCs in the first place. Was looking for a while but this model does look nice. :slightly_smiling_face:

I have the same stand and use it for a tascam model 16 - which is far larger and heavier than I thought it would be. The stand makes it portable for dragging around the studio for jams or as a multitrack interface.

Wish it were prettier - don’t love the 2000s computer chair aesthetic, but who cares, it’s a sturdy and useful investment:)

Yeah it’s basic but does the job pretty well. I cover it with a sheet when not using, to keep from dust and not care not much about it’s ugly look.
