Not a purchase, but gifted a ton of obscure 10” and 12” vinyl from @Scot_Solida… and a TG77!
Awesome!!
You wouldn’t believe how much Vanna charges to pose for a meme these days.
Sennheise e906: replacement for the sm57 that one of my dogs turned into a chew toy. Used for guitar cab mic
Boss Waza DM-2: Traded for it with a friend. Needed a solid and simple, straight up delay. One of my first pedals was a original DM-2 and it was awesome.
since they made it upgradeable it seems like it will last a long long time so long as it holds together
wanted some I/Os to record my MD and AR individual outs.
- a patchbay could help but twice the cables (still considering one though!)
- an ADAT preamp would bring 8 i/o at 96khz with smux but I wanted 16 so 2 adapters, more cables and rare are the ones that come only with line level inputs (I guess B has one? but I couldn’t find that many options)
- a mixer could be nice but takes too much space
- apollo X16: too damn expensive and I’m sure I can’t hear what it’s all about with my ears anyway.
then I saw this apollo mk2 16 for the price of an average ADAT preamp so couldn’t resist. bought the TB3 card and cheap DSUB cables and here I am with 16 in, 16 outs at 96khz and enough DSP power to add an EQ plugin on each inserts if necessary(but I really see this as an extra feature more than a core feature)
intentions: record very detailed bleep bloop of course!
There’s some gems indeed. What a hero.
Incoming used bargain of a 4075 to keep the 5089 company.
Intentions: mostly mid-range arpeggios, leads, and counter-melodies with an ARP(ish) character.
Great to see some Boomstars in this thread!
There’s not enough Boom* action on the webz.
Some new toys:
- B* K2
- Volca Drum
- braided patch cables
- thick MUJI notebooks
Not shown
- Some TT stackables. Now that I’m finally out of Euro, I’m buying stackables.
- Korg NanoKontrol 2
Thoughts:
- The K2 is a really great synth. Love the dual filters and compact size. I want the sparkle-blue full size MS20 reissue, but a 2600m and Cascadia are higher up on my priority list, so the MS20 will probably be out of production by the time I get to it.
- Volca Drum is fun, and will join the Volca Modular and Volca FM Mk1 as sound sources for the Tracker
Plans:
- Focus on the Tracker and the Volca Drum. The K2 will also make a good sound source, but it already feels like an old friend that is easy to hang and explore with. The Drum and Tracker will need more focused time.
- Make the most of mono sampling. I’ve got the Mk2 OT for stereo sampling and FSUing.
- The tracker is just a bit big for air travel, but could be a good companion on long haul Amtrak trips.
Edit: a straggler showed up:
barely-used A4 mk1 on reverb for €620. it’s in fantastic condition. buttons & encoders feel new
id bought a 2nd hand mk2 last week but it arrived badly in need of a trip to elektron hq, so sadly I had to return it. next day this popped up.
Phwoar!
belt drive? is that the one you have to lift the platter to go from 33rpm to 45rpm? we had one of those at my work a few years ago and it sounded great. tracked well.
Yes indeed. It was 300€, couldn’t resist. And really need it.
Just opened the box and made a fun loop - it’s a blast this thing can’t believe someone designed this and made it happen, blows my mind
