röyksopp forever

Really, really well. A lot of options in how to pair it, obviously, so I haven’t necessarily found a definitive workflow. Been experimenting mostly with it as a pre-eq into the Fusion insert and then trying to sort through having the D-EQ pre or post compression… also, you have to remind yourself that you don’t necessarily need to use every circuit in this combo simultaneously.
There really is a lot there and seemingly endless sculpting capabilities, but if you like what the Fusion is giving you this is a really great pairing. I have another SSL style bus comp and this really expands on the more standard features.
It’s a Modor DR2 and Pulsar 23 giving me analogue and digital drums. Off camera there are guitars, turntables, percussion thingies. Nice mix of electronic and acoustic.
Don’t forget : with wood side panels, DR2 sounds warmer
thanks for the mini review!
Glad to hear that you are enjoying the pairing, I absolutely love my fusion, it’s become an essential part of my workflow. I use it as the last stop on my chain before I take the sound back into my DAW and throw a glue comp on it. It’s great the amount of features they packed into the bus… Hope I can snag one of these in the next few months.
p.s. If you eventually make some demos of the sound on it, I’d be very interested to check them out
Was not opening Bitwig up much as I really find myself hating the Black and Orange GUI over the years. Maybe one day they will offer nicer GUI skins.
Anyhow - I bagged Ableton Live 11 Suite for a bargain $350 over on KVR and I am already enjoying the nice light GUI. Been jamming with it tonight feeding my Octatrack various VSTs to sample (using the OT Midi sequencer) and sending the OT Main audio back in. Seems to be keeping in sync so far with OT as the Master.
Really enjoying the hybrid approach whilst learning these Elektrons
I broke ngny for this one, and that’s fine by me. I’ve been needing a real mixer for years and my intentions are to move into the next chapter with this chunky thing. It’s a little over kill for me, but I hope to have some room to grow into it
How did you get the discount on Ableton? I’d buy it inmediately.
Man I love big knobs. Beautiful UI that.
Finally managed to snag a Mannequins Cold Mac, at not too ridiculous a price. Intentions are to do some crazy crosspatching/modulation across my semimodular stuff, and probably get very confused in the process…
It was on their classified adverts. I buy a lot of software bargains there.
Coming tomorrow from Juno UK
Coming tomorrow from Signal Sounds Glasgow
