What's your latest purchase & what are your intentions with it? [pics ftw] (Part 1)

Made a few “not sexy” puchases recently, mostly to make life easier in the studio. First this standing rack so I can have a the mixer at hand anytime, and this passive DI rack so I can easily plug any synths or drum machine into it (all the Studer connexions are XLR).

Also one very cool routing trick: I now have a outputs from my audio interface going to the Line Input of the Studer so I can use it for summing, but at the same time I have the output of the DI going to the Mic Input, so I can choose wich input I want anytime with the selector. Saving some cabling energy for sure here, and it make it very easy to mix and match sounds from the computer with hardware stuff.

Remembered that AIAIAI makes some nice headphones, and they have this modularity built into the design. Got a set with a Bluetooth headband and got an extra cable with a mic so I can use them for work calls. That allows me to consolidate to one set of headphones for three different use cases. Music making, work calls and doing the dishes. Haha. So there are all my intentions.

Because of course I NEEDED a third PLL pedal.

Have some AIAIAI TMA-2 with the S04 speaker units and the TMA-2 HD Wireless with the S05 speaker units, just like in the Ninja Tune Edt. They sound amazing and without ear fatigue!

I guess I’ve heard of them through their collaboration with Farmer MacDonald on the EIEIO.

Wow! Really? I’ve been thinking about getting one, but I’m not sure if I like the sound from the demos.

I’ve been on a quest to find a really good high gain pedal for guitar. I ordered an Origin Effects Revival Drive Hot Rod. Hopefully it fits the bill.

One of the most interesting circuits going for me. I have 3 also - 2x in Synchrodne/Expand and one in Grendel Drone Commander.

I had an industrialectric 4046 that I foolishly sold to finance something else, bought and sold off another defective unit of the same, and have since acquired the mantic flex pro and the amazing montreal assembly purpll. I would sure like to have another industrialectric, especially since he’s making a newer updated one. Sigh.

I love the industrial waste aesthetics on those too

I love PLLs!

I designed this dual oscillator to behave similarly to the internals of the 4046, and then added my own phase detector, dividers, integrator, etc.

(And some other PLL toolbox type modules. I actually like them for creating rhythms almost more than just locking frequencies)

So many places you can route the lfos, each with their own amount. Two extra envelopes that you can route anywhere including having secondary ones in amp and filter. Delays on envelopes. Mod wheel and strip for routing. Amazing stuff.

And you can use the sequencer like an extra 9 I think custom lfos including slewing the values.

I know It’s a much more capable synth. But I was surprised to see you say

I love the sound more than my p10

since I thought you were not talking exactly about versatility.

My intention to play it once (VERY LOUD) then attach some clock hands and proudly mount our new kitchen clock that will hopefully induce the happiest of memories everytime I look at the time!:heart::heart:

I caved in and bought this lot as it was only 130€ alltogether, they were mostly mint/unused and the deal was local. The dude even brought them home for me for no extra charge. I’ve been dreaming of starting a small second hand guitar pedal section in my book shop (I already sell second hand and vintage video games, rpg-manuals, empty vintage cassettes and musical notes, so it’s not that far fetched idea.)

This bunch could be the starting point for that section. I think I’ll hold onto the Zoom + accessories but the Cry Baby, the pedal power and the Joyo will probably be resold in my shop. I have a closet filled with unused gear at home like some more pedals and a Yamaha QY-300 etc. which could also be sold in my shop.

EDIT: Hah! In a closer examination the pedal power box had a couple of hidden free extras. I don’t own any suitable Kawai gear, but I’m sure someone will be very happy buying these.

Let me know if you ever side to start selling on consignment. I’ve got a pile of kit it’d be nice to get a little bit for, but dealing with shipping and all the rest is a pain and I’d much rather support a community institution than reverb, even if it means stuff goes a fair bit cheaper.

Red Panda Particle v2 and some flat patch cables.
Intention: Inject some granular chaos into my guitar playing sporting a nicely organized pedalboard. :hugs:
