When your beats are on fire this will let you know.
I recently sold my squarp pyramid; and instead i got a lemur.
fyi. lemur is a 0SC controller from 2004/5, when touchscreens werenât a thing yet. these cost about 2.5k back then. sadly, osc, though vastly superior to midi, never was accepted by the people, so you can get one of these controllers now for under 200eur.
it is fully programable(with its own editor)and sends 32bit control data over fast ethernet to any device on the same network. the main reason to consider osc nowadays is if you need more resolution than 7bit for your control signals.
the build quality is superb; what looks like plastic is 2mm painted aluminium, so its heavy and feels like a tank. the touchscreen is only 800x600 but it can handle 10fingers simultaneously.
there is also an app for android/ios which has some features that weârent available on the lemur.
more resolutio but tablets can only handle 4 fingers and wireless devices are always a pain with a network setup because they canât handle udp.
I also got a 2.4 sink for testing from the very nice people at instruments of things.
it receives data from the lemur via 2.4ghz wireless network an has 16 outs that can be either
uni- or bi-polar. it converts the 32bit digital input signals to 16bit analoge.
You can also connect wireless sensors and bluetooth devices to it.
I am still working on the setup, but from some test in can already tell is that
the switch to osc is a mayor step forward if you wanna control video and 3D elements
in a software like Touchdesigner; its also a lot more complicated to setup than midi, so donât
blame me if you get lost in that rabbit hole.
I will post some updates soon.
I remember the live performance of Lemur at Musikmesse Frankfurt,
a UFO at the time! Too expensive but desirable with its unique interactions.
The last time I saw a hardware Lemur in the wild was in 2005.
Very happy with the iOS app since 2012.
OMG you can get em for $300-400 on eBay now!
I wanted one SO bad when they came out. But at 2.5k that def wasnât happening. Itâs temptingâŚ
[get a grip dude]
Apple Magic Keyboard w/ Numeric Keypad and Rechargeable Battery
I have a bad habit of spilling coffee/tea/water on my computer keyboards. Itâs how I destroyed the one that came with my old Mac desktop, the wired Apple keyboard, and the wireless keyboard that came with my iMac. I hated the use of AA batteries in my old wireless keyboard. At least this new one is USB rechargeable.
Short showcase of the FX, from left to right, first dry, wet fading in, then fading out, dry signal again.
Matriarch only one Osc, no FX on, just the Arp noodling.
Second a demo of the R1 being used with the Matriarch in a musical context. One track is a sequence including Matriarch Delay on, tweaking knobs, R1 only Refracture Reverb used.
Second track is Matriarch one osc bass, no FX at all.
Walrus or die.
Very beautiful.
Bought.
Erica synths db01 ⌠canât resist a raw acid/ bass box.
A nice 2tb ssd for MacBook to replace the 500gig.
Feels good when cloning finished and the Mac actually booted from new drive.
Not so good when traktor decides it canât find any of my collection and I spend ages sorting it out.
So I contacted StyleFlip here in the US about making a white Digitone skin to match my other equipment⌠they said they have been getting a lot of requests but had no template for the DN at the moment, and if I wanted I could send mine in for prototyping and I would get the first one on my unit installed and sent back for free.
While discussing it with them I mentioned a minor issue with the A4 skin Iâve had for a bit⌠the holes for the LEDs are ever-so-slightly too small or misaligned (on my A4 anyway) and âpuckerâ a little bit around them. I sent them some pix and they called me back right away, offering to redesign it and install the new one, also for free. Damn, thatâs some customer service.
Now just have to be without any Elektrons for 7-10 daysâŚ
Won these panels after a friend tagged me in an instagram giveaway. No space in the case for them, but I like how they look taped to the front and sides
Do like the illustrations on the side there!
Youâre going for a Sci-Fi movie?
Taking one for the team. Good on you man.
Turns out you can vesa mount just about anything. Found this vesa clamp adapter for my DT-800 programmer online.
Since I use the Pro 2 keys as my main keyboard controller, I was wanting to get it above the keys. Itâs mounted to the window sill so very stable.
Such clamp adapters would work for MMs, MDs, OTs and Analog Elektrons, btw.
Wanting one of these pretty badly! If they release a firmware with conditional trigs Iâm going to have to sell a kidney and get one. Only thing I havenât found on any sequencers but Elektron.
Walked out the train and saw something on the ground. Was : âwait⌠what?â
I never tried thoses things and I though itâs really cool to make music walking to my job. This thing is fun! The screen is gone but Iâm glad I found it!
I put it in the âpurchaseâ thread 'cause it cost me a train ticket.
PS: PM me if itâs yours, Iâll be glad to give it back to you
Hope you like it!
