Nice try buddy but I think we all know birds aren’t real.
Yeah just get the AI chatbot to write it, they can code anything
i assume the " problem" with the syntakt is not new machine: you already have 39!!!, it’s polyphony and some workflow issues like those little nuances they solved on the D2 for example page looping for editing with precision just a portion of an entire loop, i’m still waiting for the LFO slew parameter on the S+H lfo for the older generation too … and a chorus effect please
What is next for Elektron? Seems a question more pertinent than ever before. The market is saturated now with gear and i cant think of anything unique that Elektron can bring to the party. Sometimes the best is in the past, and Elektron have a great past. But as for the future im not so sure anymore.
Good job you don’t work for Elektron then I guess…
A4 MK2 & Rytm MK2 is Peak Elektron and such beautifully crafted machines.
they really should consider to update the basics, different new sequencer tricks, lower the price and make it eternal as flagships.
if they would do that and therefore release different machines that can be used with the flagships (think of half sized Digis without a sequencer that would make a great setup.
the Elektron sequencer is great but as you all know, it’s not as great as others, the strict mono behavior is irritating and would be flawless if it would allow overdubbing, even on a basic paraphonic level.
I don‘t think the future is a full desk of different but sameish Elektron sequencer machines, where one machine can do midi and others don‘t…it’s a bit outdated
With all sincerity. I wouldnt want to.
I mean, neither would I.
Unless they’re looking for someone with 20 years of skills and experience relating to autism, ADHD and Looked After Children, I think I’d be pretty shit at it.
I think I can safely say I’d have a dreadful time working there.
polyphony will not happen, was not expecting that, but I was expecting new machines
100% on the Analogs
It’s definitely frustrating knowing that I could finally write a decent and complete piece of music if they’d finally release the machine that will give me that missing piece that I don’t know what it is but I just know that’s it.
Not sure what Elektrons aversion to polyphony is, I mean it’s not like the sequencer can’t do it, the Digitone has 8 voices, so why can’t they introduce polyphony to the Digitakt 2 or the Syntakts digital tracks?
There’s folk on the Digitakt 2 request topic pleading to sacrifice audio tracks just to play more than 2 notes on the Digitakt 2, the f’k is that about, surely playing a few notes per track (even if polyphony was limited to say 32 voices at least it’s something) can be done on the Digitakt 2? It’s Digital for christ sake, not an analog device with multiple hardware oscillators to contend with.
The sequencer kinda sucks at polyphonic playing though, to be honest. Because all the polyphonic notes have to share trig’s you can’t easily get the kind of expression or playability a keyboard player would want from a polyphonic instrument. I rely heavily on recording my playing of a midi keyboard into the sequencer. That works pretty well on elektron stuff for monophonic playing. Every time I have tried to record a mildly complicated polyphonic pattern on the digitone it came out wrong. I think it works okay for people with a real programming mindset, but not great for keyboardists, who are going to be much more the target audience for a polyphonic synth.
The lack of polyphony on many current Elektron devices is something that really bothers me and puts me off from wanting them tbh. I just don’t want to see more monophonic gear unless it’s very cheap or it’s an analogue synth. For anything higher end and digital I really want some kind of built in per-track polyphony support even if it’s quite basic.
Like I adore the Octatrack, but not being able to play chords is the number one limitation that always disappoints me when I use it. I can understand why they’ve done it that way for past technical and design reasons so I’ve made my peace with it, but for new samplers please make them poly capable. I don’t really care about the sequencing difficulties, I’d be quite happy just being able to play chords live or that I can easily resample.
We know little about what the Tonverk will actually be capable of, but I’m glad to see that there’s a chord button which seems to indicate that it’ll have polyphony.
read that on facebook too. monomachine and analog 4 started their career as mono only synth , the rest is history. so i’ll keep asking until i have it
I’ve learned yesterday that there’s an Elektronauts Facebook group. I’ve looked at the names and the Avatars but nothing was matching the ones I know from this site. My off-topic question is : are you on both platforms?
I peruse the FB one, but am no where near as active or engaged as I am here. More of a supplement to this forum IMO.
I had to check the meaning of this word. Thanks for using it, it’s now in my English vocabulary.
Me ? Yes. Spend far more time here though.
I’m sure they could improve polyphonic recording on the sequencer though, the Elektron sequencer has been mono based all this time, so theres definitely room for improvement when it comes to polyphonic recording/playback.
Even something like what may be predefined chord sets on the upcoming Tonverk would do for some polyphonic action on the Digitakt 2.
