What’s next for Ess / Fors?

I got my copy of Chiral from Ableton, will Ableton also be pushing the update? (I did just have a look, but nothing as yet).

For the time being it’ll continue being macOS, but long-term we would of course like to release stuff for both platforms. This is purely a technical choice for now.

It should be available shortly from the pack store – but also just so you know you can email us with your pack store receipt and we’ll add it to your account on Fors.fm too.

(Though it won’t be available as a pack in Live, it’s then a 3rd party device)

Great, that would be good to have all the Fors stuff in one place, I’ll be in touch

MPE Pitch control seems not to work for Opal devices and Glänta but works fine for Lode. Do I have to enable something? I dont have a controller, just drawing the pitch on the piano roll in the MPE tab on Ableton 12. Has anyone the same issue?

Ess-Fors thank you for your amazing devices keep them coming!

That works on my end – but note that this is only for compatibility with the Microtuner and built-in tuning in Live so in some cases this is limited to on/off note pitch offsets only, meaning that they don’t do continuous pitch-bend.

(It’s of course something I can look into, but it’s definitely much more of a can of worms, my goal here primarily was for everyone to be able to use our instruments with the new tuning system etc)

Yes it seemed to me to be an on/off function for those devices but wasn’t sure. Ok got it, microtuning works, so everything works as intended! Thanks Ess :vulcan_salute:

Someone ported Rombs to the OWL platform. I have it on my Belfaco Lich Eurorack module and OMG its sounds absolutely magical.

one caveat though, it needs to be using the OWL3 platform and some of the older Lich Modules use the OWL2 platform chip. (it can be upgraded to the OWL3 chip, total plug and play.)

@Ess Hi Ess.
Thanks so far for the great sounding and fun plugins. One thing I’m really yearning for, and thought you’d probably be the best at creating it would be a Push SA compatible (M4L I guess) euclidian sequencer, a software version of a T-1 in essence.
I’ve tried the others, and they just don’t cut it, especially on the Push screen. Your Jog, Roulette and Dot are interesting, and I think with your skills, you could create something outstanding.
You probably have a lot on your plate, but thought I’d reach out with a request for your to do list

I was just playing with Glänta on the Push 3, and noticed that it has “MPE” in its top bar. But how do you access its MPE capabilities? Sliding doesn’t do anything, for example.

This is more or less strictly for microtuning, so it listens to on-note bends, e.g if you use the Microtuner Max for Live device or use a tuning in Live 12.

No MPE with Tela? :sleepy:

There’s a branch with MPE but it’s not quite ready for release yet, need to weigh some options in regards to mapping and CPU overhead. Might just settle for MPE pitch bend in the end so that at least microtuning is possible. Currently deep in work on other things though.

has Elektron brought you in for consultations ?  (we all hope so!)

Epic plugins btw!

Hehe, no – other Fors things. ;–)

Other things! I’m back on the Max for Live game for this one, a bit different in some ways. Very analog/hardware inspired. :–)

A monomachine reboot that includes Fors instruments as Machines/Engines? Lovely!

(This how nonsense starts!!🫣😇)

is it too chicky to ask for recomendation to other “instruments/plugins” with such an epic push integration and sound? The minimal maximalism from your design is amazing.
Any other good companies?

As politely as possible, this is not the thread you’re looking for

Edit: here are the droids you’re looking for
