What am I missing about the popularity of some techno producers?

…end of the day, all fruits from the same tree…

straight or broken beat…
half tempo or double tempo…

so, what’s the speed, what’s the lead…?..bottomline questions…
meanwhile, pop always finds it birthplace in the underground and then pop always eats itself…
what’s next for elektron, what’s next for us…

What’s next?

Everyone should stop worrying about it, and get on with things. If you enjoy Techno, enjoy Techno. If you make it, make it. If you attempt to make it, but it doesn’t turn out as well as you’d like, practice. If you don’t like a certain DJ’s output, find another one that you do like.

There are excellent examples of all music in all eras. The trick is to know where to look, who to look for, and how to find new talent that you like. It’s all there. Always has been, and will continue to be.

Look for the girl spinning it in the basement of her house. The guy making it in his bedroom. The person that’s been innovating for decades. They’re all there, doing what they do. You just have to find them. Or be one yourself.

there very essence of techno is when it’s stripped down to just enough that makes it work.

What?

Thank you for sharing this tune. It’s perfect in its simplicity, indeed.

Preach.
Every now and then I’ll listen to some techno and enjoy it. Ocassionally I’ll make some and think its awesome. Then inevitably change my mind 24 hours later.

I dont hate techno, dont love it either.

It’s not just you. The music is nothing special. It’s about the ‘scene’ they are a part of. I’m way too old to be impressed by the ‘scene’ over the actual music. It comes off as very superficial to me. Not hating though, superficial is fun for a lot of people in a certain age demographic.

And i was just about to say i hope whatever box Tielektronsto releases will be good for making trance :joy::joy::joy:

A lot of it is true-ish though. Which is why I’ve goodbyelessly parted with the scene, but remain loyal to the music

which became very apparent to me, buying records, as early as 1995

His dad, Mr hype, must be a true legend. Proper wicked, aight?

If you can do it for the fun of it, you might stick with it. Certainly had fantasies in the past. Played some gigs.

I’d buy you a fur coat (But, not a real fur coat. That’s cruel).

How about a used fur coat? Fur is only cruel once. :stuck_out_tongue:

(for the record I own no fur)

(also for the record I don’t see an issue with vintage fur as long as you aren’t near the red paint brigade)

For reference (Barenaked Ladies - If I Had A Million Dollars). Yes, my ‘Canadian’ is showing:

I’d buy you a monkey. Haven’t you always wanted a monkey?

Or giraffe. Whatever…

People that have had frontal lobotomy procedures neither like nor dislike techno. (despite what the drool may indicate)
