Strong start, glad you’re back!

Been trying to find a track from the last weekly beats where you’re rapping on the sofa

Damn… have to come back and say I love this new one even more second listen. I feel like a massive strength of yours is in messing with song structure in interesting ways.

Anyone who hasn’t yet and wants a bit of inspiration, go through Orange Drink’s Octatrack stuff

I’d love to do this one day (or year), but don’t have the time for it this year. Really cool you’re doing it and encouraging others to do so as well!

I’ve just signed up!

Annoyed that I already missed the first week, but never mind.

My songs are unprofessional little toy-like things. But could be we’d all be happier taking more time to make toys. So here’s my entry for this week:

An Engine of Apparitions

welcome!

man I absolutely love being able to hear the “train tracks” - sounds so good! :v:

2 years ago I tried to do the WB. I managed to get 6 tracks in using the M8, but I liked the concept a lot. I was looking here for Some info about my machinedrum that I dusted off, saw this thread… long story short… I uploaded a machinedrum only track yesterday for week 2. So sad i missed week 1, I hope to get the other 50 in this year. Maybe I do all machinedrum… so much fun.

So nice to see you here Orange Drink, I remember your video from WB 2024 - still only managed to do 4 songs tho.

Decided to try it one more time this year, gifted myself a Digitone 2 at Christmas and will try to do all tracks for the year only using this machine : I guess that’s the fastest way to master it

First Elektron device, too and this thread decided me to join Elektronauts for good!

Good luck for WB!

This is the way.

Having only a week to get something out really encourages you to discover and lean on the things the DN does best rather than trying to forcing it into any preconceptions. It’s a box that’s easier to approach as a collaboration partner than a dictator. Plenty of time to get bossy with it later with more knowledge and time

Though also: definitely give yourself permission to break out and use something else when you need to. Better to keep your weekly flow going than to skip because you’re burnt out on a device/style/whatever.

I did a rap for week 2 using the OP-XY and CM-15

I have a soft spot for ROMplers. This whole song is essentially built around the (unfortunately named) “Piddle-Dee” patch of Roland’s Platinum Trax.

I did a machinedrum track. I think i will stick to the machinedrum this year for all entry’s (Don’t pin me down on it) So this is my first attempt with the new firmware and after a looooong time not using it. 1 bar, 1 pattern. Live tweaking…

This was my track it was an exploration of trying to write chiptune boss music using the 8 Bit Anthem expansion for U-He Hive.

I’m trying to make my writing a bit less diatonic so I used chromatic mediants to give the music more of an off kilter spooky vibe.

Love this

Really evocative of Robert Miles or that era of music.

Would be great to drive to.
