Hello guys!
I have started to think about adding additional analog or hybrid synth to my setup.
Could you please recommend me a small analog or hybrid desktop synth module with CV/Gate inputs? I wand to sequence it from my AnalogFour using CV.
It should be simple, small (without keyboard) and nice sounding. Mainly for bass.
Few years ago I had Moog Minitaur but its firmware wasn’t stable and I sold it.
Thanks in advance!
Hey Uturunku !
You may consider the opposite, play basses with the A4 and use e.g. the Nord Drum 2 for the drums

Yes, ND2 is cool! But I already have AR and OT for drums.

I don’t own it, so I can’t recommend it, but it sounds like Dreadbox Hades fit your requirements: http://www.dreadbox-fx.com/hades/
< $1000 (but I’d prefer something between $$400-600).
Sounds nice, have to think about it!
Other suggestions?

Hmm, I like Pittsburgh Modular and have a lot of their modules, but again, I don’t own any of these two, so can’t really recommend or compare with other gear:

Arturia MicroBrute? Lots of synth for the money and CV-input/outputs.
I thought about MicroBrute but I don’t have space for keyboard.

You’re kind of spoilt for choice with a $1k… a bit less, less options obviously.
I’d be thinking about a semi-modular, with a very distinct tone (bass?) that you can sequence from the A4, and also feed back into the A4 to use its FX… play to the A4’s strengths and weaknesses as it were.
Module, no keys?

Thank you Rusty! Will listen to all of them.

The first is a more recent discussion of the same topic, which in turn was discussed more extensively before - the OP had a tantrum, sadly, and deleted the thread title and coL ated content which populated the first post - but most of the ideas and discussions are in those recent threads fwiw

studio electronics boomstars , the se80 is amazing , really nice vintage feal to it
the downside is their pots , they do wobble a bit but i never did have problems with crackles etc , amazing sounds though and nice and compact

Couple of left field ideas… both within your budget…
DSI Evolver… covers the hybrid side of things, and imho is a great sounding bit of kit. The PolyEvolver is a true classic.
Elektron MonoMachine… ok, no cv/gate, but it can be the master, and A4 slave. Would be a very nice compliment / juxtaposition to the A4…
Just throwing dem there hats into the ring…
