Vermona PerFourmer MKII

Keystep pro is a match made in heaven for the Perfourmer.

I use a Digitone mostly, but I was tempted to get a Circuit Tracks specifically for sequencing the VP. From memory it has two synth (mute and use as midi) and two midi tracks, plus its sample tracks, and you could feed the VP into the CT inputs for delay/reverb.

I just got a Torso T1 and Perfourmer for a very good price, so I plan to sequence it with that, and will get back to you with the results.

However…the Perfourmer is GIGANTIC. I don’t know how to hide it from my wife.

I wonder if that’s why synth design used to be fairly boring and similar, manufacturers worked out they could sell more if the new synth looked a lot like the old synth that was hurriedly stashed in the wardrobe.

hahaha my thoughts exactly, I put a blanket over it…then at some point it will be like “this? oh its always been here…”

I’m having fun playing / sequencing perFOURmer mkii from a Linnstrument. Reasons why:

  • perFOURmer has aftertouch hardwired to filter cutoff so applying pressure on Linnstrument is very expressive
  • Linnstrument sends MIDI clock
  • Linnstrument arp is nice, fun & especially so with pressure/velocity
  • Note-per-channel mode (or not), split mode (or not)
  • etc., it’s just a lot of fun and full of surprises

Linnstrument for live fun as above.

I’ve also tried Five12 Vector, and Torso T-1 and they both work great for my music.

Really don’t recommend deceiving one’s spouse.

I use the cirklon. I also have a push 3, which I use to record notes into the cirklon.

I know that feeling :rofl::rofl:

I think I’ve mentioned this before… when mine arrived it was just in its product box, which says something like “Finest analog gear handcrafted in Erlbach Germany.” my wife took delivery of it and had fun with that one for months. every time something new would arrive, she’d be like “ooooh, what’s this one…? Italy’s finest synthesizer…?”

Lol, she sounds fun.

Every time my wife comes into the studio she acts like she has never seen anything in there before. She will ask me about when I got such and such, and where did such and such come from… and it will be like things that have been in there for like 5 years :open_mouth: .

hah! yeah I never get that. she doesn’t care what’s in there and in fact she tries to stay out of there as much as possible, because the cables from the modulars and just having all the walls filled with synths gives her anxiety. which… I totally get. on the flip side… when I speak of selling things and severely cutting back, she’s sad about it. :man_shrugging:

The trick is to just keep buying perfourmers so nothing seems as if it’s new, but for some reason the room feels more cluttered every time your wife enters. No questions asked. Problem solved.

No problem here as the whole family finds it beautiful, and even more since I made it a nice wooden case

In all seriousness my missus isn’t arsed, and is very supportive - it’s buying records I have to watch for, just because of the room we have. She’ll notice them arriving on the RING camera :grinning:

There needs to be more ‘secret’ delivery options.

  • Hide behind bush near front window
  • Ring door bell, drop, then slide with feet whilst looking forward.

It’s funny how bringing things in to the house, be it presents for me or members of the household seems to coincide with days I need to charge camera batteries.
