Vermona PerFourmer MKII

I use mine with a keystp pro and its perfect blend of both worlds

I just wanted to add that getting the four voices sounding really close wasn’t as difficult as I expected it would be for polyphonic playing.

Playing by keyboard is nice but sequencing is better because then you can make adjustments as it plays.

Opening 4 filters at the same time is not very handy. But yes of course you can play poly with keyboard and it can be unusual because you have to manage the 4 voices independently and that the beauty and the uniqueness of the perfourmer.

I agree KSP + Perfourmer is a great combo!

Sequencing is your best bet for the perfourmer. It doesn’t like it when you play more overlapping notes than it has voices, which happens easily playing it with a keyboard. You will get a lot of stuck notes depending on the mode you use and your playing style and what you are playing.

I’ve played it polyphonically with a Linnstrument and really enjoyed it. But sequencing is great because it begs for by-hand modulation.

PerFourMer with a good arpeggiator: great fun
Keystep 37’s arpeggiator is definitely good and/or better than good

Sending MIDI clock to PerFourMer opens up some options with LFO sync; this can be a little tricky with KS37 depending on which mode it’s in and whether you like to keep the KS37 in ‘play’ mode all the time (or not).

lots of great ideas here thanks all, i’ll try everything! no votes for cv/gate from a4 tho…

A4 can only do 2 x CV/Gate out, right? So CV A is CV, CV B is trig, then CV C is CV, and CV D is trig? But PerFourMer takes 4 x CV/Gate inputs… so I guess it just depends on what mode you’re in (a duophonic mode where OSCs 1&2 are linked and 3&4 are linked might be fun in that config) but it kinda depends on whether this is an improvement over MIDI for you & for what you want to achieve.

Playmodes work only with midi unfortunately so you need a four track CV/Gate sequencer.

Not an “only Perfourmer” track :flushed: but it handles the main theme. Other synths are Micromonsta 2 and SH-01a

does anybody have a hardware sequencer they use for the perfourmer that isn’t dt or ot?

Hi,

I use an Hapax.

Is that easy to use?

It’s hard to make generalities because gear will suit someone and not another person but yes, I find it easy to use and very intuitive, well thought.
It is rather all the creative possibilities it allows that are difficult to grasp

Cirklon eats those 4 monos for breakfast.

aha

I used to love the sequencer of the deluge but I hated the synth and it only had a few cv outs so it went away…

I currently use the Deluge and Keystep Pro with my Perfourmer and I’m happy.

The KSP is quick/easy and flexible. I use it when I want to get simple ideas or melodies down quickly.

I have had the Deluge long enough to know my way around. Actually midi sequencing with the Deluge is pretty simple. It also has some features to make things more generative/random and pretty sure there will be more to come.

Deluge can’t touch the OXI for that kind of stuff rn, but the OXI made my Perfourmer act up and get stuck notes when in the generative modes. I think the OXI was sending it too much information all at once. There’s probably a workaround/way to filter but I didn’t feel like taking the time to figure it out.

I’d really like to try the Hapax and have considered trading my Deluge for one, but afraid I’d miss all the other stuff that it does.
