just click on the “downloads” and scroll down to the installers.
Ah, I was looking at Unfiltered’s own page. Thank you all
Yep, just going to +1 on that. What I would really love is if we could have external sidechain input added as a synth engine - so as well as being able to work them with the maximizer you could use the envelopes, filter, drive etc. would be super cool
The only challenge with software machines like this is mapping everything out to knobs and then remembering the mappings. Not the end of the world but the one piece where hardware delivers for me. That said, this drum machine is really incredible once it’s all set up. So many sound options. Almost overwhelming, really.
Quick question to see if i found a bug or feature that others have a workaround for: Battalion on an instrument track in pro tools, 8 voices out to 8 stereo audio tracks.
Send some of the hat to the shatter delay and record it.
Hat audio has no delay, turns out the delay is coming from the master 1/2 which, being on the instrument track, isn’t printing audio.
Easy enough to route the 1/2 to an audio track to see what happens but haven’t tried it just yet. Will be amusing if just the delay prints and the raw hat is still printed.
Did I miss something? Is there a routing trick or just one instance of the delay for all that’s sent to it?
Thanks!
Yes, that sounds right. There’s only one instance of delay and reverb, and they’re on the master output. For individual outputs, it would have been extremely expensive (CPU-wise) to add seven more instances of each effect, and we’re already at notably high CPU usage. FWIW, the Shatter Delay is almost identical to our Instant Delay effect (in Sandman Pro, BYOME, or, uh, Instant Delay). The GLITCH control is a brownian LFO modulating the delay time. If you have one of those plugins, you could set up a pretty similar effect on the individual tracks.
We’ve been working steadily on updates. We’re going to launch a public beta for a smaller feature update next week. The pattern system and MIDI out/printing are the biggest features requests we’ve had, but we’re still designing how those should look and work. We’ve tackled the next biggest feature request, which is MIDI note control of nearly everything triggered.
1.0.5 (In Progress)
- Add Scrapyard synth engine, a blend of FM and Modal.
- Add MIDI note controls to start or stop playback.
- Add MIDI note controls to toggle Mute and Solo status.
- Add MIDI note controls to control randomization and performance.
- Add MIDI note controls to change presets.
- Add MIDI note controls to manually choke drum channels.
- The play/stop status is now saved with DAW projects.
- The reverb control no longer jumps unpredictably when clicked and behaves more like the other knobs.
- Fixed a bug where sampler controls were not updating with correct engine tooltips.
- Added a "Show User Sample Folder" shortcut to the sample selection menu.
Thank you.
It’s the glitch control that sets it out and I have byome will use that on the track
Battalion is only $39.99 with the new promo using code 3999 at checkout. Buy a plugin that is $39.99 and get Battalion free.
No problem. If you need the stereo GLITCH effect in BYOME, set the delay times to independent for the Left and Right channels, and then add a separate random LFO to each channel. You’ll end up with more control since you can then decide how intense the effect is on each channel. You’ll also want to turn the noise SLEW up so that it’s a smooth random wave.
100% sure Battalion is eligible?
Thanks so much for posting this!
Been drooling over Battalion for a while, on a limited budget.
Yup
Anyone have any recommendations for the freebie?
Little jam with Battalion today (plus a couple of loops). Some of the levels are out but loving the sounds you can get with this thing, Battalion comes in at about 40s:
Appreciate you all updating this plugin. The word on UA (probably unfair) is that you all rarely update your software, so there was some skepticism with this release.
I think Battalion is a top tier drum machine plugin that will end up on a lot of records. So the fact that you are all actively working to improve it really is great news to me.
Thanks for the info!
Wow. Thanks for posting this, that’s crazy. Feel bad for people who paid full price but I guess that’s the nature of the game with Plugin Alliance
I might get Unfiltered Audio Lion. Not too interested in all the vintage hardware emulations that make up most of the PA catalogue
SILO is pretty cool (that what I got, but I already had Lion)
I can confirm it is- Just got Battalion and Silo for 40 bucks…
