Triaz Native - Software Drum Machine

You can adjust step length and speed per track though…

You can have the steps run independently of each other at 1/8 notes or 32’nd notes.

So with a bit of Maths… yes?

Heres a pic… you can see the columns… you can slide up and down the values…

I do wish for tool tips on hover though…

For real… Behold its beauty… from a TR REC kinda guy, this is soooooo dope to have all these sequencer options…

this is one of the things I like about drum computer

Maybe you guys already figure this but try this…

  1. Make a beat on pattern 1
  2. Copy it to pattern 2
  3. Go to the REPEAT page and randomize all (delete the kick and bass elements)
  4. Go to the PITCH page and randomize all
  5. Transpose your keyboard up to the C6 range
  6. Use C6 and C#6 to go between the two patterns
  7. Make some more variations and have fun!

Are these all new drum samples rather than repackaged ones from WA complete, revolution drumvolution etc? What’s the automatic tagging feature - how does that work?

…i’m never talking down to people…sorry if it comes across like that for some…

all my point is just the same one, again and again for one reason…we all love next new toys…
and all this industry is no niche thing anymore and sure they come up with heaps of next new shiny toys, feeding on the promises we all tend to be catched by way too easily…oh, this one more little tool will solve this or that problem i’m struggeling with…sure we’re all different, but end of the day, not sooo much…

and it’s always a good thing to reflect on that…and the simple truuth is most of the time, if we only know our ways and workflows in/on the stuff we already got in use, in way too many cases, there’s no real need for another next new shiny toy…there’s only the need for sharpening our skills, working out next new ideas and focussing on getting more fun out of the creative process itself, instead of just shortcutting right through our personal comfortzones, feeding out inner child that wants it all and spending the next money on the next promoted promise…

No one is disputing this, but you could pretty much post the same rhetoric on every hardware and software post on every music gear forum! It’s great to have choices and sometimes a new toy can inspire you, or even just cheer you up a bit on a rainy Monday morning

I’m with you on this!

Yeah. We all know the game. in the beginning of our journey, we may believe that we need just one more thing to really make the music we want.

And as you learn through auditioning presets or learning a new piece of kit or vst, you realize that you have the ability to do this on stuff you got.

Then you achieve final form. You realize you only ever needed your first synth. And if you just would have put in all that time on one machine, you would be so much better at it than all the distractions of new stuff.

Then is when you start buying cool stuff to force you to work through something, hoping for something new. That inspo.

This is a path most well trodden by self taught musicians.

That’s some DunningKruger effect type ish.

Lot of assumptions by you again.

I got this upgrade for free. I tried it for that reason. I think it is very good at enhancing workflow for how I write my music. It’s a rare piece of 3rd party software that actually got me excited because it fits my needs.

You want to lecture about toys? People spend hundred or thousands on hardware machines that are not as capable as this software. This is less than $100 I believe.

I agree with this but I went ahead and bought the TALPHA synth and made one of my best tracks ever with it. Sometimes a new instrument, even if similar to those before, sufficiently possesses its own unique character that it brings something out in you.

Who made the samples for this?

…in essence, i actually do… @SLiC @BassesAndPads

if i sound like a been there/did that guy, it’s because i am…sorry for that…
as sad as truu…i was lucky enough to make my back then teenage dreams become a daily reality and a “job” that fed a family and provide me with a priveledged and so called “fulfilled” life…
but i can’t come around the fact to learn, how more and more difficult it gets for each 'n everyone out there to be enabled and blessed to take that same road, to just give it a somewhat reasonable try to do so also…

but no matter what, to dream on, remains essential…and so does the quest to find the perfect set of tools that fits u best…

and i can assure u, i totally see and feel and get ur point…since hell yeah, been there/did that…
once ur crossing a certain a threshhold of experience, it becomes an unavoidable curse to see the same old patterns…and that’s no good or bad thing…just a fact that comes for everybody at some point…

and from there, it’s getting harder and harder to just cheer up a little…just wait and see for urself…
this is not about lecturing anybody, this is just about sharing experience in life and being part of the same game, in a world, that keeps rapidly changing and gets increasingly harder to catch up with, to actually achieve something, for everybody likewise, no matter if u need to, want to or where ur heading at, where ur coming from, what tools u find useful or don’t…

and if u think it’s not for u, then it’s just not for u…should be no big deal, or is it?

my assumptions, ur assumptions…everybody’s assuming…
while i’m damned sure, triaz can also do just fine…really no need for personal justifications and further more tribalisms of any kind…

peace…says the old man, just talking about the “war” again, while just not realizing how tooootaaallyyy out of touch he actually is… :vulcan_salute:

Wish I could make a living to support myself with music let alone a family. Much respect to you.

You aren’t the only one. That’s my point here.

For those who are interested, this post from the developer (at KVR)

As promised here is a rough roadmap of the improvements and features for Triaz we plan to work on over the coming weeks / months:

Roughly 2 weeks
A hot fix update for any pressing issues or bug reports. There is likely also room to add a couple of the enhancements suggested from user reports within this update.

Roughly 8-12 weeks
Smart sequencer randomization screen. This will be very powerful and include smart randomization of individual sequencer lanes and entire sequence patterns, and taking cues from the Drum Randomizer will also include options for locking lanes from randomization, randomizing FX lanes, control/s for introducing the probability of non musical notes or intensity.

This update will possibly coincide with the launch of a Free Player version of Triaz, which is designed purely to load expansions that we will sell, alongside many of the other features listed below at the bottom of this post.

Roughly 6 months
AI / ML based bulk sample Import option where users can automatically link in, sort and tag all their samples with AI from different locations. We would train this model for character tagging based on our huge hand tagged library of drum sounds.

Other Features

We are not sure exactly which update these will land in, but during this timeline we’d also like to add the following features / improvements:

• Ability / option to add full step velocity steps in sequencer with one click.
• Export page enhancements with more control over exporting stuff wet vs dry
• Single click one shot drum export (dry and wet)
• Phase invert button on drum layers
• More filter modes
• Lock kit whilst changing patterns
• Sample offset per layer
• XY Pad slop modulation
• More user definable options such as allowing drums to audibly be triggered using drum tabs when sequencer is running
• More DAW automation lanes and MIDI CC learn.

Expansions
We are also already working on quite a few expansions and plan to release these regularly once we get these rolling. An expansion pack will contain presets, patterns, new sounds, and perfect tagging and show up automatically just like the factory presets in their own section under the factory library. We are planning to build a cloud installer meaning you will just enter a serial or code and the expansion will automatically download into the correct place in Triaz and be ready to use out of the box.

Some expansions we are working on (none of these are the final names), but just how we are describing them internally:

1. World Percussion - This is an enormous collection of beautifully recorded world percussion covering African, Latin, Brazilian, Indian, Asian etc percussion instruments, which has been over a year in the making. It will likely include somewhere between 7,000-10,000 sounds and be perfectly tagged with presets across many styles for Triaz.

2. Vibey Acoustic Drums - This is an insane collection of aesthetically designed acoustic drums for modern electronic genres. We’ve been working on this for 2 years, creatively recording drums at many of the best studios around the world, including Bryan Adam’s Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, Canada and many others. This will include around 10,000 sounds and is a totally epic project :D

3. Playground Drums - Maybe some of you own our Beat Lab sample pack that we launched as limited time deal during Black Friday in 2022. This takes the same idea but expands upon it. None the same samples are included (It’s al brand new content). The idea here was recording and processing our favorite sounds from over 30 new and modern drum machines, and then taking taking these recordings and processing them in several unique ways, such as recording them back through a huge PA system into some of the best drum rooms in the world and picking the signal back up through expensive vintage mix configurations, recording them to tape, old cassette tapes, through lofi gear and other things. It’s a really creative and unique collection and again will have tons of presets and perfect tagging directly in Triaz.

4. Genre based expansions - we have many of these planned and these will eventually come out on a regular basis, covering different gernes, styles, quirky experimental stuff, modular synth drums etc,.

Sorry for the long post, but I hope this gives a rough idea of where we plan to take this :tu:

Note: The timelines for these updates are estimates, so things may change by a few weeks if things arise out of our control.

…point taken…glad for u…for sure i’m not the only one…no intension to pretend or brag…and look what @abluesky just said…it’s such a rare blessing, harder and harder to achieve these days… so better be thankful, too, instead of feeling offended, that u’d been talked down to, if there’s in fact nothing u could feel down for…let’s just get back to topic again…triaz is another great tool in the endless array of great tools to get u anywhere u want…

I think that random implementation could take this to another level. Roadmap sounds great, this is obviously their flagship piece of software.

I think at some point they will re release revolution which will probably blow a lot of people’s minds with how authentic it sounds.

I’ve got the Kontakt versions of all the older WA instruments Revolution, Evolution etc.) so am hoping to just use those sample folders in Triaz once they get the external folder/AI scan function working

Not to derail the thread but exactly how are you able to do this? Film/tv/video games?
