Torso T1 Algorithmic Sequencer

Possibly yeah. :+1: ve been on hiatus for a bit but I’ll be back.

I’ve thinking about getting one to sequence my Super 6 desktop but I think I’d need to get a MRCC or MRCC 880 to pull it off.

I personally think the T-1 really shines with lots of different gear connected to it. But if you’re going to go just one box, hard to beat a rompler like a JV-1080 or friends. 16 part timbrality, tons of polyphony, solid percussion tracks, good VA-sounding options and more weird atmospheric patches than you can shake a stick at.

I’ve been close to pulling the trigger on the JV-1080 a couple of times. Would be sweet to layer it with the Super 6 and record that into my MPC.

I think an SH-4D would be good with the Torso. Also, Fred’s Lab Tooro is nice and small and sounds good.

fwiw there’s a VST version of the 1080. A lot easier to navigate than the hardware…

Still use, but stop touching your elektrons, cause p-locks and the elektron sequencer doesn’t matter anymore……

Awww no need to be grumpy.

I won’t be using mine with Elektrons.

Cheers

I’ve used it with a virus which worked really great. Love using random on midi output, so the t-1 would spit out sequences to 16 different midi channels on the virus

Here’s an example of it using just 3 tracks of T-1. Just the same sequence all the way, only with increasing random on one of the tracks

Dont know any other sequencer that does this

It’s not being grumpy.
Its just gonna change your perspective regardless what you use it with.
You’ll enjoy it.

(I don’t use my elektron sequencers anymore)

I must apologize. I totally misinterpreted your reply to me. And now I feel like a complete arse.

Didn’t get any sleep last night so my interpretation capabilities are short on fuel.

I’m curious how I will think about the t1 in a few weeks. Yesterday only got a few minutes to play with it but it feels really good to explore. Love the look, feel and layout of the thing so far

I mean the Syntakt would be a great option but it does cost…

I’ve sequenced my ST with the Polyend Play and I’ve had a lot of fun with it.

ST does cost a lot but where else can you get a 12-part multitimbral monosynth (that has such a good user interface)?
I haven’t owned a Blofeld but the user interface seems horrid - can’t see myself making patches there and also enjoying it.

Personally it took a little while for me to gel with; this is probably my third time pulling it out of the cupboard because I got some new gear (model: cycles) that I thought it might be fun to sequence with. But this time it clicked. It’s a really performative sequencer- I think you’ll love it.

No need to apologize. I’m know I am a Class A arse around here.
I understand it’s difficult to tell when I’m real and when I’m taking the piss :upside_down_face:

Thanks. I maybe overlooked Syntakt as an option, I have never used one and there are such polarized opinions about them. I will add them to my list of boxes to look for sound examples, etc.

I’ve been using my T-1 with a a Model:Cycles- works really nicely with all the different machines, it’s fun to switch up patterns on the M:C to effectively swap kits while playing the T-1. obviously it’s just digital and not as flexible as a Syntakt or A4, but it’s a lot cheaper.

Torso T-1 and TubeOhm Jeannie work fine together and are great fun to play around with :upside_down_face:.

Lovely!

I just ordered a T1 after a couple years of thinking about it. Anyone recommend a good carrying case for it that won’t cost me $70 bucks with shipping fees?

I can’t help with a cheaper option I’m afraid, but the official case is really good, very high quality and sturdy
