Thanks this is helpful. I like the idea of recording directly to a track. I guess it matters the setup.
I have a Blokas Midi hub and basically have the T1 DIN out going into that. The basic Setting A, I have the Blokas sendiing MIDI from that input to all 4 midi outs. That lets me send into my Digitakt and then I have it’s MIDI thru going into my Digitone. The second out goes into my ESQ1, which is basically my pad machine in this setup.
I found this thread that implies that maybe I can make a setup on the Blokas that could let me change the elekton’s patterns from the T-1. This would be so cool. Not sure if I would need to go MIDI through the DT to DN or have them each on separate channels in this case though.
In my current MIDI thru setup, the Digitakt MIDI channels are 1-8 and DN 9-12.
It really matters the tracks setup I guess, but doing it all from the T-1 seems like a simpler way to go for a live recording.
Recording, I was also thinking the same setup as you in terms of DAW with a DT and DN plugin setup for overbridge and then an audio in from the esq1. Also thinking I may just set the BPM the same in the DAW and turn off sync and start stop in overbridge . This way it’s just the T-1 clock driving everything and then I can cut the blank space from the audio files start and line them up together on the grid.
