Yeah the inability to preview is dreadful. I have to imagine it’s coming and hopefully soon.

Yes Torso should not be adding tax on a sale to the UK.

first jam with the S-4…recorded three guitar loops on the fly (4 bars each) and a quick drum loop (2 bars) then went ahead and played around with the S-4…first verdict, awesome machine, if Torso can deliver on updates and close the unfinished gaps it’s a potential classic to me. It does what the OT does for me, not as wild, but more hifi :stuck_out_tongue: and granular

Noob question here, but is it currently possible to one-shot trigger a sample on the S-4 using the T-1 (or any other sequencer) via MIDI?

I know MIDI sync isn’t available yet, but that’s more about the clock, right?

Yeah. You can do that with the polysynth mode.

I contacted Torso and they said ‘We don’t charge VAT for sales out of EU’

Ah, thank you!

It is a little cumbersome to find the correct note to trigger it with in order for it to playback at the same pitch and speed, when you want to just simply use it as a one-shot. Hope they’ll add that as an option later

Yeah, it’s not the most ideal. There’s been talk about adding a slice mode eventually. It’s definitely on the top of my list of anticipated features.

Probably impossible, but imagine you could install Norns or Orac on the S4 … a different instance in each of its fx slots

Even to upload a puredata patch as a machine in any slot …

I’d love to know why they opted for a software power solution. I would have much preferred a physical switch making it very simple to keep it powered off when not in use. Currently I have to pull the power cord out which just feels awkward for a product these days.

Hey gang. I’ve been a bit out of the loop and just wondered if the firmware that’s bringing MIDI sync has been released yet? I tried Discord but struggle terribly with that interface, so thought I’d try here.

No, not yet.

It was said that it will come with the next update.

Copy of devlog#3:

An update on 1.0.5

We are hard at work developing update 1.0.5 for the S-4. Our initial plan was to include a broader range of features in this update, but we decided to focus solely on perfecting the MIDI Sync implementation. By doing this, we can ensure that everything is thoroughly tested and fully functional, providing you with a reliable and smooth experience. As it stands now, we will be releasing a few more smaller updates with essential bug fixes and tweaks, paving the way for a major 1.1.0 update.

New Manual

For any new (or existing) S-4 users out there, we want to remind everyone about the comprehensive S-4 manual written by Synthdawg. The manual is continuously updated as updates are released, and has already seen several updates since the S-4 was launched. The manual provides detailed guidance and insights, making it easier for users to explore and utilize all the features of the S-4. We are grateful to Synthdawg for his dedication and hard work in putting it all together.

You can find the manual on our website.

Summer break

The development team is gearing down for a couple of weeks to take some well-deserved time off in the Copenhagen summer. While we won’t be posting new devlogs for the next couple of weeks, rest assured that we will return very, very soon with more exciting updates and news. In the meantime, enjoy your summer and stay creative.

But they don’t say if 1.0.5 be ready before the summer break, correct?

Thank you guys for helping out an old man this morning.
