I was trying to figure this out last night and after reading the shortcuts in the manual i don’t think you can copy and paste subtracks to another subtrack even within the same super track. It only copies the whole supertrack. It’s pretty annoying because you can do so much sound design within a subtrack and then it’s kind of just stuck there.
Thanks for confirming. Yeah, that’s well annoying. Nearly as annoying as not being able to have different FX sends per sub-track. Man there’s not a day goes by that doesn’t bug me.
Why if I put filter bank (I mean the EQ FX) on the master the sound drastically changes?
Because it’s not a linear phase EQ and thus it introduces a phase shift.
It happens even at 0 value of all faders…
I guess I’ll use the bus eq’s. Thanks.
hey guys - is it true that external keyboard PB/MD etc only affect Tonverk track macros ? They will not affect PB/MD on a midi track in the Tonverk? I see they do not.
Im trying to route my keystep via midi to both tonverk and digitone . Tonverk is also clock for digitone and pulsar 23 (midi thru from digitone). Currently using a midi quadra merge for my Keystep and Oxi e16 into TV then midi out of TV into digitone …
If I want the outcome I want , I think I may need to get another merge box and route the 2nd output of my quadra merge to that , then the tonverk out to that also and then them both into the digitone - to have two distinct channels from the keystep ? Will I be able to chain those together and get midi power for the second merge box?
Cheers!
The different filter routing options lead to very subtle sound differences here, if at all. Do I do something wrong or do you have other examples? It would be very cool, if overdrive before filter would change the filter sound more than it does now.
There is a trick for that, works for modwheel but it doesn’t work for pitchbend: PB out values are inverted.
Works for tracks 1-8.
Not convenient, not possible to record.
One question: when recording parameters live of one track the triggers turn yellow and flashing.
Why I can’t turn off the yellow trigs in the lane menu when I choose note trigs only? Is this normal? And then are flashing all the time and I wonder if is the expected behaviour. I find the flashing yellow trigs very distracting and it would be great at least to have it fixed…
Is it me or are the transform options a bit useless right now? You can’t (?) configure them so for example the velocity ramp goes from zero to max. It would be great if you could set:
- The start/end velocities
- The start and end trigs (right now it just applies to the entire sequence)
Or am I missing something…
I just deleted my best song with TV. I guess it can’t be recovered ![]()

Write a new song about what that feels like, it will be a better song!
Sorry for your loss, that’s a nightmare.
I often loose files, I work in graphics. You will write it quicker and better… Even if it’s annoying…
Maybe unorthadox, but I had a a profound insight the other day. Background: I have never really been a sampling guy, but mostly used samples for lack of options, albeit with the occasional chop/experiment/twist-session. I ordered the Tonverk the same hour it was released. Simply because it was a new Elektron machine and I was curious. Since then I’ve been trying to figure out how to fit the Tonerk into my setup. Yes, it can be a synth, yes it can be a sampler, yes it can be a groove box. But it does et really excel at any of those? I’m sure people have varied opinions.
But then it suddenly hit me. The Tonverk is actually a great 8 track (64 track) recorder with extra options. I would say possibly the best. You can easily record 8 stereo tracks, have lots of fx options, you can sync, cut, move, you can tie recordings to patterns and thus have a never ending “song”. You can turn the 8 tracks into 64 by placing them on sub tracks. It’s not brain surgery, just a tip for those who may find themselves in a similar situation of “Yeah, great machine, now what do I use it for”. In my case it makes recording into a DAW unneccessary, but optional after the entire project is programmed and recorded. ![]()
Pattern change from TV to my digitone 2 … I am a long time user so I am pretty sure I got everything set right but the only time pattern change on TV and to DN2 works is if I press stop on the TV then i see the change on the DN2 , but nothing if I just change on TV and let the pattern run … DN2 stays on same one
Any ideas why? cheers
Just make sure you don’t decide to change the tempo of your song at any point.
Or pitch for that matter.
Yes, but that would apply with most any recorder except a DAW. So really the only thing you would be missing in the Tonverk as porta-studio scenario is the ability to play back from the middle of a pattern, unless you chop up your recordings into appropriate chunks.
Could you share your MIDI SYNC settings (on TV and DN2), and also your TV SCALE settings (Per Pattern, Per Track, etc…)
sure can! thanks!
I have TV set to only send clock , transport and prog change , and the DN2 set to only recieve . Then on TV i have per track setup with 256 step change and 256 reset … as one of my TV tracks is a long melody.
I tested and found that if I set 256 also on the DN2 the pattern change will occur exactly 256 steps AFTER the TV has already changed , and if I try a 128 change/reset on the DN2 (as it is scaled itself to 128) it changes in DN2 half way through the TV new pattern … so the issue is the DN2 isn’t changing at the right time but lags and the reset / change determines the lag time
Could this be a bug?
Cheers
