There are only two input channels total. The USB Audio input and the analogue AB inputs get combined into a single 2-channel composite signal inside the TV, all you can do to it is either use it as 1 stereo feed or 2 mono feeds. Whether this configuration is all there ever will be, remains to be seen…
Can’t you route all 4 inputs into different buses. I thought I saw that in one of the demos
I just turned them all the way down and the volume coming into A/B in the recorder page is still very loud.
must be like post input then, or maybe you are also recieving audio via USB? remember the recorder listens to AB inputs and USB input at the same time
I checked and no audio is coming in over USB. So I guess you have to control the volume with whatever fader on your mixer is going into Tonverk. Only thing I can figure.
The other thing that is odd is the output volume on the TV is low. I checked the mix track and it’s at 100. Even at 127 it is still low. Is that the case on your end as well? Maybe we need to use effects to get it louder, I am not sure.
i find some of stock sounds to be on the quieter side compared to the multisamples im recording in myself with quite hot input levels. But overall, using headphones, the main volume knob gets worryingly loud, I’m rarely above 30% I’m using normal headphones.
Damn thats wild. My volume is maxed out to 100% and the kick drum sample I imported is peaking at -18db. Which is not the end of the world, but I just don’t get it, considering how hot the audio is coming into this thing. I checked all my interface gain settings and I went through all the different mix levels on the TV and everything is set to 100. All outputs A/B C/D E/F (phones)output the exact same level.
On a conventional computer, depending on your DAW you can either specify two different interfaces as input (other interface)/output (TV) or create an aggregate device (OS dependent). I happen to use Ableton, so here’s the instructions for that
I’m afraid I can’t answer your iPad question as I don’t use mine with an interface. I’d be curious to know whether you can do interface aggregation or use separate interfaces for Ins and Outs on the iPad. I bet some of the folks who are deep users of AUM would know.
I have to wonder though, once you’re adding an iPad, a USB hub, and another audio interface to the mix, it seems like a small mixer is a better solution or at least an audio interface that has a standalone functionality and analog audio outs (e.g. MOTU Ultralite). From the statement by @jm2c above it sounds like you only get 2 in/outs over USB at the moment anyhow.
Little off topic but somewhat related because we aren’t seeing much YouTube livestreams. Is Mario done at Elektron?
Is there a folder limit or a filename limit within the user folders ie
XLead/Key/DiscaQueen/DiscaQueen-C1.wav
As im getting the samples cant be loaded error
Thanks
Yea I’m realizing I was mistaken and that there’s no way to utilize 4 inputs at the same time ![]()
Does the tonverk have pattern mutes? Really need that for my band I heard it was just global mutes.
Is it possible to send a Voice LFO or envelope to more than 1 destination? Also, what is the ‘Meta’ option in the list of destinations for? I could not find information on what that does in the manual.
Oh that is bizarre, hope they change that! Perform mode on the other machines has been basically entirely for performing across pattern changes, otherwise it serves basically no purpose? The quick save/load (now memorize and recall) do the same function then now, so it’s redundant?
It’s less flexible as of now, maybe its reach will expand … it’s clearly simpler on synth voices to use a kit across patterns
Imho some functionality is not fully fleshed to properly assess yet, but who knows what the vision is here
Samplelength is 64 Bars, i would like to play the First 16 Bars (256 Steps) of it.
I want to fill a Subtracks machine with one-shots. When I load a sample into subtrack 1 and then want to load another sample into subtrack 2, I have to leave the folder structure completely and start again to access my folders. It doesn’t seem possible to stay in the folder, activate subtrack 2 and load the next sample. Is there a workaround? Am I doing something wrong?
I bought a Tonverk and tried connecting it via USB C (the leftmost port ) to an iPad. Does not work for me. I wonder if it is a non class compliant USB protocol or if I am missing something or if I have a faulty unit or if the firmware isn’t good yet. In the instruction video of Elektron on how to multisample it looks like they have connected the unit to an iPhone. So why can’t I get it to work in an iPad?
So that’s why I wonder what other people’s experiences are connecting it to iPhones and iPads.
Mine connects to the iPad (old air 7 or something, using an adapter for the USB cable). Audio to tonverk works always, midi I/o needs to be turned on in some apps.
It was the same here…After a couple of tries, it worked. Connect Tonverk First, then the iPad. As i said, took me a couple of times… (direct Connection, no dongle, usb c both sides)
