The USB audio connection is bidirectional, is it not?
You just need to do it track by track until we get OB2

Does anyone know how to work on the sequencer pages at the end of a long pattern without a page-loop feature? waiting up to 15 bars just to hear the last page of notes is driving me nuts
A workaround could be to shift all steps forward (for example 16 steps) and then back again after editing. But it’s not a convenient solution.

Does someone have an idea how to keep latency steady when auto sampling from a daw? May be an FL studio or Kontakt problem, but my latency jumps around quite a bit when doing that test measure before sampling begins. This results in some weird transients. In addition volume is also increasing/decreasing sometimes between neighboring notes, not sure if related.
So sorry. Just want some clarification on this. Is there anyway to sample any device over usb without it being a phone or computer.
I haven’t had my computer rigged up in my setup in years. But I’m considering buying one just to get use of more inputs to the tonverk.
Side bar but I think it’s really a shame that this thing only has two proper inputs. If I want to process my drum machines and synths into it I’m forced to run each channel mono. Ideally I’d even want a separate input just for the kick.
The USB’s being a potential 3rd and 4th input really open up this device for me as I think these effects probably work best when everything is routed into the tonverk and sort of “glued” together.
I’ve seen demos of phones and mentions of computers and phones being able to be sampled but no hardware.
Even a standalone interface would be nice. I’m hoping I can send some form of signal from my tascam model 24 to it since it also functions as an audio interface.
No. The device at the other end of the USB cable has to be a USB host.
Phones, tablets, and laptops are typical USB hosts.
However, there are some instruments that can acts as USB hosts – Push 3, MPC Live, to name a few. These are essentially purpose built computers in “sheeps clothing”.
Again, nope. Your Tascam Model 24’s USB output needs to connect to a USB host as well. Since neither the Tonverk or the Model 24 are USB hosts it’s a no go.
Pure speculation – I wouldn’t be surprised if in a couple of years Tonverk gets a firmware that allows it to act as a USB host. That’s just a guess…AFAIK Elektron has made no statements along these lines.
Is it possible to set the level of the audio input? It says to lower the source volume but typically there is an input volume on the sampler. I see some low noise coming in from my computer even with everything muted, and the Tonverk seems to sample pretty hot.
Also is it possible to just have clock coming into the MIDI in and not the USB? I have a sync clock sending clock to the MIDI in, but the USB midi in is probably getting the clock from the DAW as well. So that is probably going to throw off the timing.
I was planning to use the USB midi in out on Tonverk for sending and receiving notes but not sync.
there’s gain settings the A and B inputs on the SRC page of the Mix track (TRK 16)
posted in another thread but:
Has anyone got .sfz working on the TV yet? I’ve tried a couple but I get errors. The errors say that they can’t understand the .sfz data file.
Yea I think the omission of extra inputs makes me think we’re going to get like some hardware form of overbridge to route signals.
Is there any simple device u can recommend that isn’t an actual instrument that would work? Like mixer or interface that could send the audio without needing a computer involved?
Question:
Pattern Length can be now 256 Steps, but max Trig Length is 128 Steps. What am I missing? (Trying to play a recorded sample with one trig over the whole length of 256 steps or better 16 bars)
there’s no infinite trig length? that’s quite surprising tbh.
It sounds like you’re essentially looking for a small mixer or A/D converter that can act as a USB host. Unfortunately, I’m not aware of one. That would indeed be cool to have!
If I was thinking about trying to hack something together, I’d probably consider seeing what I could jerry rig with a Raspberry PI plus a soundcard (I don’t know if there are any RPi hats with multiple inputs). Could be fairly compact…
Couldn’t you just set the sample length on the amp page to inf?
You need to configure your DAW to not send MIDI clock over USB
I really think it would have made much better sense for TV to have USB host/client modes switchable (if it is a Linux-based system this shouldn’t be impossible) to facilitate compatibility with all the enormous number of synths, grooveboxes, mixers, and audio interfaces that already do multitrack USB audio as a client and are already on the market. As it is, client-only basically means it would require an entirely new product like you’re describing to serve as an input expander and it’s unclear that you would really gain anything on TV itself over just using a standard mixer’s stereo output stream. I think this is more Elektron’s problem to solve than the user’s.
See my prior response to @oldbills where I speculate exactly that…
But that’s an indeterminate future solution. I’m offering a potential solution now if you’re determined not to use a laptop/phone/tablet or one of the other devices I mentioned (Push 3, MPC).
The device has been out for less than a week. Some people who bought one on launch day are still waiting for their boxes to ship. Its a little premature to make assumptions about how this USB Host thing will turn out in the long run… or even in the short run, IMHO.
This is just my personal opinion, but I feel like TV was a bit rushed to market. Undoubtedly the first few months will elaborate much more on what to expect going forward
K curious. Say I ran a mixer into my iPad. How would I route that audio back into the TV since the iPad only has one usb out would I need a usb splitter?
Or does the whole usb audio thing only work with vst’s/sounds already in the device?
Like with a phone tablet or computer how would you run a live mixer signal into either one of these and back into the tonverk?
I have pretty good understanding of most audio routing but the computer stuff is kind of beyond me.
I essentially want to run drums into input a. Bass signals into input b and synths/other melodic stuff into the usb inputs if possible.
Thx for ur help and feedback btw.
