Tonverk speculations

Oof, not to pile on, but it does look like a Donner or Amazon Basics version of a Polyend. However, depending on who you ask, that could be a good thing

Fair point in terms of visual separation. I’d definitely play around more together with performers to test what that means and iterate based on that while keeping the pleasing aesthetics in place.

Feel free to pile on if that’s your opinion, all good. I personally love Polyend’s Industrial Design.

I think the spacing of encoders needs to be reassessed too, this is too close to comfort for live scenario, assuming this device has the Performance mode same as A4, meaning 8 macros, that means you’re going to play them live, the Main Volume will be changed 200% with that proximity

I think if you keep tweaking your render following the advice that it’s just going to end up looking like the leaked model.

You might be better off starting fresh with that and just moving things around and tweaking the spacing a little, rather than choosing a completely different number of encoders/buttons. They will have designed the hardware of the Tonverk to work with the software features they want for it.

Haha possibly, but my main difference would still be keyboard combined with the triggers instead of one of top of another I think.

Hopping on to the baseless speculation bandwagon here, but is it possible the two panels on the bottom could be to facilitate Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connectivity?

wouldn’t be surprised if that will include wireless stuff considering the new CEO experience in the field…

The A4 mki layout is so much better than a keyboard doubling the sequencer steps. And toneverk inherited that.

Besides, I think the product design process is so much advanced that only software things can be altered from here.

Hence, resistance is futile

I’m honestly having fun exploring this, so all good. I definitely don’t expect to see anything different than the prototype we’ve seen.

this is Model Cycles MK2

I love the Model Cycles design!

I wonder if they will officially announce it today?

The no sequencer page indicators is a bit baffling to me, but they could integrate that in the display UI. Could we take that as a hint older devices might get 128 steps, or in the future we might get even more steps with Elektron sequencers if we want them?
