“Motion Layer” will most likely only apply to parameters for internal engines. As a midi sequencer for external synths, I doubt this feature will be offered.
I always thought a general-purpose box would be a better idea for Elektron over sound packs and sample subscriptions. I would buy new synthesis models like action figures. Even better if you could put them together yourself like Nord Modular and get 24 parameters to do as you please. They could sell individual MD and MnM models and make SO much friggin money.
If this thing comes out, how many boxes will Elektron have in their portfolio?
How do they want to keep up with updates…?
OT2
Analog Rhytm
Analog Four
DT2
SY
DIgitone
Small sampler
Small Fm thing
- Tonverk
Phase Distortion synth confirmed!
now don’t go getting my hopes up LOL
Nothing goes better with cheese than a little whine
You know you’re just setting yourself up, right? If you get parameter slides and don’t produce the most mind-blowing example song utilizing this feature to the fullest potential, you will be roasted alive on this interweb message board until the end of time.
But just to be clear, I do commend you for fighting the good fight.
Exactly! Wouldn’t that be great and the best solution for them and for us? imo that would sell
Agreed
Thinking this will be a mixer/controller, with master and FX
Interested to see how the USB-C using streaming audio from other boxes could be handled
Might be overbridge + song arranger in a portable package
I’m excited!
Is it just me or is that “Move” pixel font kinda Elektron stylish?
2 USB-C ports also in the pictures… Maybe somekind Ableton controller / hub / Ableton in Elektron box / way to save and export Elektron made patterns and songs as Ableton Projects.
That would be cool, exporting your dawless jams as Ableton Projects for later use
OT, A4, DN, M:S and M:C are not in future updates roadmap. These devices are complete or abandoned at this point.
Likely AR too.
I bet Only ST, DT2 and TV are in the future updates list.
The keyboard is making me wonder if this box has the same capabilities as 1010 Lemondrop, you can play incoming audio signals polyphonically and do all kinds of fun granular stuff.
And this with the motion layer on Tonverk…
Would Tonverk be a collab with Ableton and run Max MSP/4live plugins natively, sequenceable on an Elektron hardware box? ![]()
Rytm is so important to the lineup and they alluded to continuing to work on adding a 2nd lfo. I think we might see an MK3 eventually, based on DT2 platform (sorry wrong thread). Just like they did the big DT update before the new mk, rytm got its big update and a new one is probably somewhere in the pipeline years down the line. DN perhaps wasnt a best seller and there was no digital synth flagship so Tonverk is a logical pivot from DN
Tonverk Tips and Tricks thread will be interesting
And funny notice about meaning of Tonverk also in German, where Ableton comes from…
I vaguely remember @Ess saying something about being hard at work on something new?
Seems to me Ess would fit right into this Max / Elektron puzzle that is forming ![]()
