Tonverk speculations

I think so, but now you have SD card  and two usb-c, thinking that maybe one can actually be connected to ssd drive of choice?

indeed. Gotta keep up with the Joneses I guess…

doesn’t mean they will do it, but if they want to… it’s all there, expandable storage, connectivity…

Sounds like a recent nightmare I had :grimacing:

But seriously, I’m hoping that this device combines a bunch of machines that cover types of synthesis not seen in previous Elektrons… proper VA, granular, physical modeling, spectral synthesis etc.

I did, and I liked it, it’s just that with, well, loops and longer samples you’d hit that OG one gig limit like right away (even using 80s sample up and down trick). Also, nicer samples do cost the “points” or whatever it’s called there so your welcome pack dries up in no time, than you get yourself more of these pac-man coins :space_invader: and at this point it you’re in a vicious&endless cycle of violence hahahahah. In principle it’s a nice integration tho, in particular with 20GB at hand but sure - you don’t want to be connected all the time (which applies universally I guess, not only afa loopcloud is concerned)

Threads slowing down quite a lot. A good sign.

If it is not sampling they’d probably crafted a juicy new icon for it. Like Elektron loves to do. Not recycle an existing icon that is already engraved in our mental model.

… speaking of which, what about poly / voices? There’s no “lips” button or anything like that and surely TV’s gonna be at least 16 voices because - why not

The highlight of this thread for me so far was when someone likened our very crude measurement and analysis of publicly leaked photos to “industrial espionage”.

I’ve always wished Elektron would make a proper wavetable synth, and the cherry on top would have been if it was in one of the Analog mk2 boxes. However I really like the look of this one and if it is in fact a wavetable synth (or partly anyway) then I’m not sure I’ll have time to decide how much I’m willing to pay before I check out. That’s a future me problem. (And my family who will eat tinned beans for a month).

…it must be a tracker!

:joy:

Something does not make sense for me.

Wavetable synthesis use generally small wave file. So why would they put a sd card for this purpose, there internal +drive would be enough.
And if it’s a big sampler, then why not put scene button and a crossfader.
I am really curious about what they plan on this box and why choosing to be able to have external storage.

One possibility is that we’ll be able to record our songs directly on the device, and the SD card is there to accomodate those large (maybe multi-channel?) files, as well as giving us another way to transfer and share files.

Could be, like 1010’s Bluebox (“record hours of music as 48k, 24 bit WAVs directly to the SD card as multi-track or as the main stereo mix”)

Its dynamic performance mangler 8 audio, some drums, midi and fx

Really looking forward to what’s coming!

Hoping for a sampling + synthesis beast.

Elektron, hook me up and I’ll give you feedback on how it is with drumbreaks

Was just thinking exactly this

with Ton im thinking digiTONe and verk maybe a reference to Kraftwerk as isnt the w pronounced like a V…??? :grimacing::grimacing::see_no_evil::joy: I’ll get me coat…
