If “Tonverk” translates to “Musical Score” in English, that’s a pretty broad theme for something focusing on specialized synthesis of some sort.
At -12 octaves you would be way into subsonic lfo territory
:dizzy:
yeah obviously I’m exaggerating, I say -12 Elektron gives us -5 we call it a day
what I mean is that when you use a wavetable for modulation it’s great when you can go reeeeal low, it acts as weird lfo, you don’t have to hear it just use the waveform for modulation
Mduw mk2+ with non+ drive screenplate 10/10
Five more minutes!
I missed out on the Monomachine and Machine drum and even the later ones. But it seems this may save me😃
Wednesday I heard…
FM for sure, otherwise there wouldn’t be DN Buttons on it. I know they’re used on the A4 too.
In this thread, given any position, you can find someone who thinks it.
The argument against that I’ve heard is that there aren’t enough pages (just SRC and what might be under it). But that presupposes DN-style FM. Just as the sample capability might be less than DT2 level (maybe even less than DT1 level), the FM, if it’s included, might be restricted, though not in the same way as Syntakt.
I hope this is a blank machine to which you can upload different kinds of synths, including all of the Mnm and MD machines, and a year later, they introduce a silver version similar to the e25 line with a red, blue, or green backlit screen!
In that way, we’d have both Mnm and MD reincarnated in a single modern silver mega machine! + everything else, granular, wavetable, whatever… but hey! Mnm + MD
It’s possible to do the whole digitone interface on 4 layers of the source page. Digitone has two layers on two Syn pages. Other than that the buttons accommodate the rest of the interface (filter, amp, mod, fx)
Yes, the more I think about the device, the more I am seeing it as Elektron’s harmonic progression powerhouse, finally pairing complex progressions with the Elektron sequencer in more intuitive and interesting ways. I have had many hardware sequencers with some form of chord sequencing (OXI One, Hapax etc.), and they always left me hoping for a better version of Elektron’s midi sequencer instead.
I am imagining things like chord inversions and chord types as a modulation destinations in the mod matrix, and the ability to set one chord track as the master with other tracks (like a bass line or a top line) set to follow the progression, with different settings that determine what “follow” means in each context (such as setting the bass track to follow the lowest note and the top line transposing within the selected global scale based on the progression of the 3rd or 4th highest note of the chord, etc). This way you can build a progression and then use LFOs and P-Locks and experiment with variations without having to edit all the other tracks.
Add on top the ability to send out midi and bring in/sample layers from other gear that is also following the progression would make Tonverk a very nice little centerpiece
There, I have now inserted my wild speculation so I can shed a tear when the product is actually announced.

Same feeling I got, but I’m trying not to prejudge. He spent 10 months on the board prior to ascension. We’ll just have to see what unfolds and what kind of influence he may or may not have on the brand’s direction. I just hope he is in it for the long game of building hardcore customer loyalty, brand caché, and deeply thoughtful UX/UI.
If this thing is connected to the internet, those beloved instruments in form of a sample (a minimoog, a certain kick, even a 303) could be analized by an AI and transformed into a synth engine which will producing exactly that tone you’ll need. Well my 2 cents
I don’t think they have the brainpower to implement that. They are using the same tech over and over in a different box. There hasn’t been a fader since the OT
can anyone pls photoshop it to a e25 silver version? pls
Do you mean the absence of a fader hints to a lack of brainpower?
No seriously, but other companies can probably do that for them.
But the deeper question is:
When has Elektron ever strived to give you ANY sound you ever wanted at ANY time? And is that a good goal?
For as long as the brand has been around, it seems to me that the product concept has been:
A device which specializes in direct and rapid creation of ALL elements necessary for a “song”, but all within the carefully limited and curated boundaries of a sound design area.
It’s that thoughtful “I can make a whole song, but only with a certain sonic toolkit” that is so fun.
I like your idea - it’s so powerful - but no WAY would I want to be connected to the internet while creating anything. It’s like having your painting studio be located inside an artist supply store where everything is free. ![]()
that LoopCloud thingy for Digitakt comes to mind…
didn’t hear a lot about it since the release, guessing not so much.
True, true, although, again, didn’t you have to DL into the device’s finite memory to work on a song?
