Tonverk as substitute for AH +FX?

I got a new Analog Heat +FX, which I really like, but it developed the well-known lines-on-the-screen issue within the return for refund period. During the time I’ve had this AH +FX (and I’ve had AH in the past), the Tonverk dropped, so I wonder if the Tonverk can cover what I need.

TV’s FX, however, are secondary compared to the sound I get processing external synths with AH’s analog distortion circuit. If TV could somehow offer comparable saturation (I particularly use AH’s high gain and saturation circuits), this would be a good excuse for me to try a TV with its more flexible FX instead of rolling the dice on another AH. TV’s manual (p. 18) says its external input’s audio is routed directly to its FX, and external input has no access to its audio tracks’ overdrive, so I suspect that TV just can’t come close enough to AH’s magic for external input.

I’d like to get some thoughts because I really don’t want to take the risk on another AH (this dealer didn’t offer repair, only exchange), but I really need a good amount of heat.

There isn’t any analog circuitry on the TV, so that’s a big difference compared with the AH.

AH +FX always seemed half-baked to me. The inability to use the FX in a modular manner like having lo-fi or distortion only affect the feedback loop of the delay or reverb really limits things. The ability to sequence FX with TV’s sequencer is a very powerful tool too.

I’ve had an AHFX in the past but sold it on, I discovered by having it I wasn’t that thrilled by 8 different distortions, it seems distortion isn’t my thing. I’ll testify that the sound quality through the TV is excellent, i’m not noticing any drop in quality running analog synths through it to make use of the effects and they are great.
