Just got a newsletter from Warp, linking to their website with the following copy:
“This Is The End From 1989-2024”
Sounds like an epitaph :-/
What is going on?

If so, what a bummer. The label is responsible for so much of my favorite music…it’s safe to say their work has warped me, for the better.
the subject of the email is “This Is Not the End” though so… i doubt it’s the end of the label… also, autechre recently renewed their deal w/the label which would be a strange thing to do if the label wasn’t going to exist anymore.
Well I hope so! Maybe some kind of new chapter/formula.
Also, their associated webstore Bleep.com notified that the 16th edition of their “100 Tracks of the year” will be their last one.
RAC! Absolutely!!! Criminally underrated. Check out their unreleased stuff on bandcamp, 2 volumes:
If one didn’t know better they might think this whole thread is a guerilla marketing tactic for Warp’s new retrospective compilation.
You can take off your tinfoil hat. I have no ties with Warp. Although I wish I had!
BTW, Warp usually celebrates decades, with retrospective compilations and releases every 10 years. So what makes 35 years so special?
There’s been rumors on BoC forums about a new release in ‘25
Hopefully this is just a marketing play by Warp
Maybe they’re leaving twitter like everyone else.
It’s been decades since I bought warp stuff … I used to buy almost everything in the 90’s. Things move on , styles change.
That track I heard on Twitter sounded squarepushery.
In the early 2000s I was on a mission to collect all of the Warp albums/CDs up until WAP100 - We Are Reasonable People. After that I started to lose interest…
The title is incredibly misleading/clickbaity. Can we change that?
Praise for warp records early days, surely… but come on…
I’ve never heard this one before… Going down the rabbit hole now.
