I love SY Chord’s interface but not a fan of the sounds. Wish they could make a second one and squeeze a mini-Digitone in there, even if it meant “breaking the rules” by adding multiple pages for synth parameters. SY Chord FM.
3 note poly I was a happy man
A new “wavetable” machine with some nastier waves would probably be better.
SY_CHORD doesn’t have any free parameter slots.
Yeah, I meant a second SY Chord machine, but with an FM sound engine. Or whatever type of synthesis, as long as it has more oomph.
LFOs are your friend…
eg.
There’s a whole thread of people making tracks using only SY_CHORD there.
Feature request: More LFOs.
And some AHD/ASDR envelopes with repeat and where the release phase can go upwards.
Since the Syntakt is a sort of amalgamation of Elektron’s other offerings I would love to see more effects pulled in from elsewhere. Alternative reverb algos, chorus, delay etc.
If this is not available cause I can’t find anywhere , then this would be a great add on to an future update
Lower octave triggers
Like a combination to lower or upper and octave with going to the knob
If this already available I would love to know how ![]()
Individual trig and trigless trig mutes
Request: Copy/paste a whole bank.
Building a ST live these days, the track swap feature from DNII would be a blessing
Looks like Syntakt will be getting another OS update soon:
Will it have any other new stuff apart from working with the outbox? ![]()
Please add Slew to the lfo’s
Yes I guess I didn’t read the manual but I wanted it also for other shapes
Other LFO types are predefined functions, non random, what would this mean ? ![]()
I guess slew might have a function on square and sawtooth, rounding off the edges (they can both get a bit clicky at certain settings). Not so much on sine or triangle though
Personally I feel it’s most important on the random wave.
Do you have a special use case in mind?
It sounds like Micromonsta2’s LAG operator - “LPF for LFO”.
My updated Syntakt wish list:
-
Chorus effect on digital machines (fixed Juno-style chorus with simple wet/dry mix is good).
-
Ability to link a track to the sound pool so it always uses the preset in the pool (like a preset lock). Any changes to the preset on a linked track will automatically update the pool and propagate the changes to all other tracks that are linked to that preset. This makes song mode useful and is needed on other Elektron devices, too.
-
Voice sharing - allow a track to use the voice of another track to create biphony on that track. I don’t want a polyphonic sequencer, the monophonic sequencer is fine, I just want to make sounds that aren’t instantly chopped off when I play another note (usually making a horrible click/thump). Triphony with three tracks would be good, too
(might need additional voice-stealing algorithm for that…) -
A freely assignable AHD/ADSR envelope in the “LFO” section with release that can go “upwards”.
-
New SY_PWM machine that mixes PWM with a detunable sawtooth. The “PWM” value sets the PWM depth. “RATE” is in Hz, set it to 0Hz for manual/LFO control of the wave. A sub oscillator can be brought in at -1 or -2 octaves using a control that works like the “TRAN” control on BD_CLASSIC (maybe different wave shapes, too, like the SH101 has). Make the pulse wave sound smooth like a Juno.

I want sy_pwm on syntakt and rytm now. Maybe too straightforward for elektron but I don’t care, I want it!!
So for you slew only is made for ramdom lfo? Ok let me just let you know that korg for example has slew on all waveforms lfo’s and I guess you never used modular system where slew has many functions n
But ok. ![]()
