The Syntakt Feature Request Thread

That’s not how you spell keytracked LFOs? :stuck_out_tongue:

Oops, edited

Hi, new user here! I think the Syntakt’s Sound Browser would really benefit from utilizing the A-H encoders to help jump forward to the corresponding bank in the sound list. Push B encoder to jump to B bank, push F encoder to jump to F bank, and so on.

Welcome! You know you can switch banks by holding bank and pressing one of the lower 8 trig keys right?

Actually although unlikely it would be nice if you could filter sounds by machine type

You know this’ll prompt people to desperately beg for slicing — even before a sample feature would be announced

I enjoy the Syntakt
Some new FX are welcome
And some new sound for the Sy Chord

Just wanted say ever since getting the DN2 and especially the TV I’ve grown to appreciate the ST’s simplicity SOO much and wish for no new features in particular. Making tunes on this thing is pure workflow zen. No Feature Request New Year 2026 lol.

A Vocal machine could be so much fun.

I agree with much of the sentiment above that the ST doesn’t necessarily “need” more (although no complaints if new machines/ effects are added) but I think it does need a better way to handle master volumes between patterns. To me a master compressor with an output level makes the most sense but I’d take a simple per pattern master knob over controlling levels with the trk control all function.

Oh! Great

i agree with this sentiment- syntakt is the first elektron i truly loved and coming back to it always feels like returning home

the only things that i really miss when switching from the newer boxes are the updated trig conditions, scale lock, and track swap

seemingly trivial things that make a big difference

yeah dont get me wrong I could name a bunch of workflow things that’d be awesome - ctrl all exclusion, track swap, perf mode, being able to trig fx track from track sequencers etc. - but I’m really happy with the state of the machine now and its simplicity. still feels criminally underrated and coming back to it from more complex boxes feels like a warm embrace.

Workflow is definitely a bit faster than the DN2, especially drums.

But… a few more things could make it great.

If I could get my wish list (above) I think I’d prefer the ST to my DN2.

Hopefully the Dev Team has the capacity and still the knowledge to give some love to the pre-Tonverk boxes in addition to Tonverk bugfixing and enhancements. :man_shrugging:

A sort of commitment from their side would be much appreciated.

I hope so because right now both Syntakt and Digitone II have some deep flaws.

Both of them could be truly great, in ways that are still different enough to differentiate them in the marketplace (if that’s what Elektron marketing department is worried about).

eg. Adding some polyphony to the Syntakt wouldn’t move it away from the “single-page sound design” philosophy. The DN2 would still win out on making really deep/complex sounds for people with enough time on their hands to do that.

Polyphony isn’t even needed for playing chords, etc., it’s needed to make sounds with a decay phase. Right now you get all sorts of horrible clicks and thumps when new notes cut off the decay of previous notes.

(Two note polyphony would be enough to fix that but it might as well be more because the programming effort needed would be roughly the same…)

I’m going to write a stern email this week. :stuck_out_tongue:

The clicking is a constant battle

Did you try AENR/FENR for avoiding clicks?

Yes, and legato mode.
