The Syntakt Feature Request Thread

Hopefully the Dev Team has the capacity and still the knowledge to give some love to the pre-Tonverk boxes in addition to Tonverk bugfixing and enhancements. :man_shrugging:

A sort of commitment from their side would be much appreciated.

I hope so because right now both Syntakt and Digitone II have some deep flaws.

Both of them could be truly great, in ways that are still different enough to differentiate them in the marketplace (if that’s what Elektron marketing department is worried about).

eg. Adding some polyphony to the Syntakt wouldn’t move it away from the ā€œsingle-page sound designā€ philosophy. The DN2 would still win out on making really deep/complex sounds for people with enough time on their hands to do that.

Polyphony isn’t even needed for playing chords, etc., it’s needed to make sounds with a decay phase. Right now you get all sorts of horrible clicks and thumps when new notes cut off the decay of previous notes.

(Two note polyphony would be enough to fix that but it might as well be more because the programming effort needed would be roughly the same…)

I’m going to write a stern email this week. :stuck_out_tongue:

The clicking is a constant battle

Did you try AENR/FENR for avoiding clicks?

Yes, and legato mode.

yeah followed this thread Inconsistent clicks (analog machines) - #50 by coposan most the time i still get a lot of clicks

Please, please, please implement sequencer scale quantisation.

This has probably been suggested before but allowing for each note in keyboard mode to have a set of p-locks assigned to it.

#1 use case is the sy chord machine then you could properly apply the right chord to each degree of the scale!

It would also be cool so you could build out a ton of variation depending on what note you play.

The caveat would be that when you record it then records the same p-locks to the sequencer trigger and there is no longer a link between the keyboard version of the trigger and the seq trig version and it becomes its own thing, a regular sequence trigger.

Also a step record mode would be super cool if it isn’t already a thing that I just haven’t discovered yet.

Now that I own the DN2, man how I’d love, if they added the Performance Mode also into the ST. It’s such an awesome feature and something that makes me nowadays want to use my DN2 to sequence my ST, as I just love the mode so much. :upside_down_face:

Record + Stop

About your chord suggestion, a feasible alternative would be SY Chord responding to polyphonic input and matching the chord settings with what you’re playing. Within reason I guess, so maybe a max of 3 notes input or something.

AH nice thank you!

The problem is it would need a polyphonic sequencer to use it…

I don’t feel like scrolling up to see how many times I’ve already written replies in this thread with features I want  However, I just want to repeat the one feature I’m always dreaming of: I really, really want a simple compressor of some kind, whether it’s part of the FX track or part of the mixer. My favorite thing to do with the Syntakt is to use it standalone, and a built-in compressor would make my experience so much better. Unfortunately, because of the signal path / architecture of Syntakt, I wonder if a master comp would be tough to implement.

Not really, it would translate your input to the chord machine settings so it still would be one note on the sequencer.

The bigger problem would be only being able to live record or using an external midi keyboard to use it. :stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry to be that person but does anyone know if we’re likely to see another update soon? It’s almost a year since the last one and that didnt introduce any new features. Would love to have more digital machines to choose from given most of the tracks are digital. Anything along the lines of the machines in the machinedrum would be awesome!

Retrigger buttons with the MIDI Machine for external MIDI sequencing.

Please.

Just today, after listening new Substan’s excellent Syntakt jam I was wondering the same. Was there any indication from Elektron about anything new coming? The only roadmap they pictured was for Tonverk as I remember. Or are we just throwing pearls on the wall here ?

a simple arp on each retrigger button that sends midi would be fun.

My newest feature is randomizing the Euclidean page by TRIG+YES combo
