Xone32- I believe only has 3 channels. I don’t think it has a return for the aux send either so it might be more like 2 channels.
The xone 92 and I think the 96 has 6 channels if you don’t use the fx returns. Maybe the play differently model 1 would also work for you.
I love my DJ mixer but I’m not sure I would be looking at dj mixers if I needed 6 stereo inputs personally.
yeah my thoughts exactly, a keyboard mixer is more likely
in such case any six or more channel mixer will be good for your live performance; plenty of those on the market…look up small live mixers
All I want is a 1642 that is also an interface allowing me to record individual channels post fader/aux returns. I just want my individual tracks captured with the effects baked in, damnit!

I was considering the new Yamaha mixer but then … two of the stereo ins are RCA and I don’t know how I feel about that. would be two channels I’d not want to use for me = 2 channels lost
A new contender from Zähl, the PM12. This could be the one. Will check it out ar Superbooth, and compare to the Xcelon.

It will be amazing for sure. But its Zähl…the most high end and costly mixers on the planet.
The (bigger) one Nils Frahm uses is about 80k - 100k € i guess.

Yeah, Zahl is known for his no compromises approach. I just wonder whether he’s changed his tune and created something for a bigger market. I seem to remember reading or seeing something about this idea to bring a more affordable and smaller footprint mixer focused on performance to the table. Perhaps I’m dreaming.
Yeah, the Zähl will be faaaaar outside my budget, I assume. I like that the channel faders are at unity at the very top judging by the printed scale. Coming from a DJ background, I’d very much prefer that in a performance mixer.
Very interesting indeed. Direct outs on all inputs, inserts only on the main output (separate jacks, so balanced I assume). Not too special yet; the CV in is what sets it apart.
I do wonder what the DB25 ports on the bottom are for - could be Tascam style connections, carrying 8 balanced (mono) channels each. Could be for multitrack send/return. Perhaps the toggle switch next to them lets you pick what they do.

It seems to me there is an “EXPANDER” label above it, so possibly adding extra channels?
EDIT: It actually looks like EXPANDER FX/AUX on the visible one, so possibly just a duplication of the 8 jacks above it.
