Oh cool, I didn’t know you could do that. I knew you record knob movements obviously, but didn’t know it would record the lfo modulation. I’m gonna try this tomorrow.
That’s not what I said
Oh ok, no worries, I think you misunderstood my post but thanks for the help anyway
I did understand your post and delivered a solution that’s easier to execute than what you proposed
slice machine wouldnt really work to achieve this cause the slice machine does not let you choose the start and end points
I mean I know the workaround to achieve that using the slice machine but what you are basically suggesting is that I just need to do it in the same way before the major 1.5 update
I wish my brain would let me do this but any more than 3 green trigs and it melts.
It does: start point = slice you begin with, end point = slice you end with. For example, you play only slices 1 to 4 instead of 1 to 8.
Edit: I am sorry if my tone was a bit rude, thank you for your suggestion @Jeanne I appreciate it.
I told you I am aware of the workaround, but still doing this in slice machine has no benefit than doing it on the classic one, also it is way harder to achieve this the way you are suggesting.
I want start point to be at 25.65 and end point to beat 87.56 how you going to match this on the slice machine??
plus, again, what is the benefit of doing it on the slice machine rather than the classic one??
I know it’s another workaround but you can use slice to get slices roughly set up then change the machine back to one shots and it leaves all the start and end points as they were with the slice. Then you can manually tweak without affecting pitch. As you point out you could have done this anyway.
thank you for your suggestion, but I am very confused with this could you explain it more?
I mean what is the benefit of using the slice machine here? also I dont think digitakt stores parameters when you go back and forth switching machines so I really didn’t get that point.
Yeah you are right. Just tried it. Sliced up a sample. saved pattern then switched back to one shot and it moved all the start points. It does lock each trigger to a different position but not where the slices were.
Sorry I could have sworn that I had done it before.
Feature request…leave the start and end points in the same place for each trigger when moving from slice to one shot.
I am not sure if this can be done since the current way to do it is through MIDI loopback method I believe, but I would like to have the option to sacrifice a MIDI Track to turn it into a Macro Track.
The Macro option would let you assign macros that modulate certain track parameters (cutoff, resonance, start time, etc.) using one of the eight knobs to allow for live tweaking without having to switch pages super fast. There’s no way to modulate something like filter cutoff and delay send at the same time and I think that limits the performance capabilities a lot.
Pattern modes saveable per pattern would be a great and welcome addition to the digi series, direct jump and direct start would be chef’s kiss
Ongoing forever: Pass pitch and mod wheel to the output, dear Lord, why would you do such a ridiculous thing like block those?
I don’t understand how a device, at six years old, doesn’t do this incredibly basic thing that’s been supported since primitive times. It’s beyond annoying, it feels like the theft of something! Why do Elektron feel they have the right to steal my little midi packets without consent?
Seriously tho, this needs to be fixed, and as a priority.
Drive! Digitakt is the only Digi box without drive [on the master]
I really miss portamento/glide.
(yeah I know you can fake it but still)
A way to manage projects. Transfer should do this. (Rearrange projects/patterns, copy patterns to new projects…)
Midi learn and saving “instruments” to quickly recall settings since the midi sequencer is so nice <3
Agreed. I think it should also allow you to load samples to tracks from your computer as well (like the loop cloud app, we shouldn’t have to pay a subscription to do it). Time stretching/pitch shifting in the computer would also be a bonus but could live without it.
I’d love in song mode if I could set the end condition of a song to load and play another song in the same project, allowing me to queue up a setlist.
