The Digitakt Feature Request Thread

the same can be achieved with fidgetting with Square LFOs, but I would really like a ping pong playback setting, so looping front to back then back to front ad nauseam

Key tracking (and as a bonus velocity/mod wheel/after touch mapping) PLEEEEEASE

(and yes I’ve already requested it via the official channels I just need to whine)

Bump for this one.

not sure if this one’s on here already, but would be amazing to be able to set a scale and then randomise the trig note with an LFO (on sample and midi tracks)

Just been playing with all the other random/chance features and succesfully writing rhythms that play themselves, but not so easy with melody to send to a synth I think?

-New sequencer modes
for example backwards, ping pong, random, etc… just like we know from max4l or modular…

-filter smoothing when parametr locked

Slide note, capability??

I would like to add my name to the list of whiners who would like to be able to please disengage auto-normalize when using internal resampling. I’ve only recently found that this is a much bigger problem when recording from internal sources than I had initially estimated and much worse than it is when recording from external sources. Please and thank you.

TRIG MODIFIERS!!!

This must have been requested here but I just got the Syntakt today and CANNOT believe that this feature is not available on the Digitakt!!

The bottom MIDI track buttons are just laying there doing nothing, chuck them the trig modifiers functionality; Digitakt would be crazy good with this update. (It definitely became crazy good already with the last update but this would be an icing on the cake mmmwahh)

I think that this should be an incredibly easy update for the Digitakt like relase it tomorrow seriously…

Yeah, it would be cool if we could take that machine concept and apply it to the MIDI tracks too. I’d love to have the option of having trig modifiers or something like the FX block.

They’re not ā€œjust laying there doing nothingā€ for me though. A lot of days, all I use my Digitakt for is MIDI sequencing. And I’m pretty much always using at least one MIDI track when I’m putting beats together.

Yeah sure but it wouldn’t stop you using and sequencing a MIDI Track I don’t think. Like are you pressing the Track Trig to hear the sound of the other machine? Is that really important?

Even it is important for you to hear the MIDI Track sound when you press the Trig 13 (instead of having the Trig Modifiers) let’s say; this could easily be added into the settings to set what MIDI Track Trigs to do and it would be up to users’ preference that way. everybody wins :slightly_smiling_face:

I’m really missing a sync record option, there is only threshold record and if you want to record loops the only way to do it easily is to stop the sequencer and put a low threshold value. I want to record at the beginning of the pattern in an easy way. without the need to stop the music !
please Elektron. just add a sync record option at minimum or maximum threshold value
thanks !!

My biggest Digitakt update feature wish would be to have some of that update energy channeled into Digitone development as well!!!

And second biggest Digitakt wish would be that Sound Setup Menu, where you can allocate different modulation destinations to aftertouch, Velocity, Pitch Bend etc etc.

This would be amazing!!

Totally agree with the earlier post about free running LFO starting at 0 phase when you press play, at the least. Even better would be if the phase was calculated relative to the timeline like Abletons M4L LFOs. They’re quite brilliant in that even if you press play somewhere further along the timeline, the phase will be correct with respect to that timeline. It also corrects itself when you change the sync rate while playing. It wasn’t always like this but I believe they updated it around version 9 and I was pretty impressed, mainly because I’m so bad at math I would have never figured out to do that in my own M4L pursuits.

I’m aware this is a completely self-serving request, but I really wish there was a way to turn the chromatic keyboard into a trig field of cascading velocities for the chosen sample, maybe be able to move a few notches left or right to determine max/min velocity, that way you could chromatically record something like hi hats or kick drums at more than one velocity within a pattern in real time. Maybe already been mentioned, but it’s been on my mind.

I’d like the keyboard to be two rows separated by fourths, like bass guitar strings…

I just got a Digitakt again after a 2 years hiatus and I’m truly blown away but how much it has evolved in this period, pretty much all that I’ve wished for in the past has been implemented! :open_mouth:

The only thing that’s missing is the ability to group tracks to that they could be played polyphonicaly, that would make it my perfect standalone groovebox. :crossed_fingers:

Would be awesome and very much like the old-skool Akai/Roger Linn concept of 16 Levels and 16 Velocities.

I don’t care if it’s roger linn, roger moore, or roger from zapp

I’ll take it if they’re offering!

check out the digichain thread, @brian3kb has already implemented something along those lines with his midi spreader
