The Digitakt Feature Request Thread

I’m pretty sure firing off midi information is way way way less taxing on the CPU than doing all the sampling duties that the DT can do. So sorry to spoil the party but we’ve been told the DT is pretty much maxed out CPU-wise

This also makes it so you can swap samples in the context of a playing pattern. Selecting the slot assigned to a track instead of an empty slot.

Thanks man lucky I read this… these couple things have made it a ton easier to get the sample I want

Do you mean changing a currently occupied sample slot with a new one from the +drive?, if so you would need to do it in a project set up for it or any pattern in the project using the same sample slot would be changed too, good if thats what you want but annoying when its not.

More for when you’re building a kit at the beginning. It helps with selecting a set of coherent sounds playing to a pattern which works better for me.

You could also temporarily assign an unused slot to load and browse samples in reference to the pattern you’re working on.

if you have one of the latest version, you could see all the patterns names in the elk/herd alpha

It would be nice to have a Perlin noise LFO… Something to make random yet continuous changes. There, I said it!

The possibility to link the FILL function between Elektron machines, so that you only have to launch it from your Master machine. This will open up much more complex transitions.

Different play modes per track. Eg: Forward (normal mode), Backwards (sequence is played backwards), Forward to Backwards, and a Random mode. Additionally a ‘arp’ mode would be cool too, the sequencer would play in the played order Also the ability to select/deselect the active steps in addition to being able to set the track length would be nice, the Volca Sample has this for example.
Image working with chopped up breaks this way!

Feature request for the Digitakt

Can we have an option so that Cntl ALL only effects tracks which are not muted at the time the parameter change is taking place…

This way we still get the ‘happy accidents’ but have a simple intuitive system to control what gets changed using this method. At present Cntl ALL changes parameters on muted tracks which can lead to unwanted changes and there’s no way to hear what is happening if the track is muted. I imagine that this would be simple to implement.

(I also presume that this hasn’t been asked for before)…

I propose holding TRK+Tracks you want to be affected. (Maybe once you press more than one track/Trig button it could show which ones are muted for ctl all)

i just woke from a dream where i was playing a digitakt that had a 2nd filter page containing an 8 band GRAPHIC EQ

Just to add my voice here in case it makes a difference…

I really wish the DT would passthrough Mod Wheel, Pitch Bend and After Touch for the MIDI tracks.

Even better would be the ability to live record them, but a simple passthrough would be great already…

I wanna live in that dream world!

No doubt this has been requested before but please add stereo monitoring. My Digitakt arrives tomorrow and I am bummed I can’t run my Digitone into it and use the master compressor on the whole mix.

You can merge the DT Midi Thru with the Out to have these passed through. I wish Elektron would make it pass through by default though without this workaround.

STEREO MONITORING would be rad.

DT TRIG LEDs.

I think Elektron could do a great deal more with the visual feedback potential of the TRIG lights.

It would improve the DT immeasurably if a TRIG with a PARAMETER LOCK had a different colour/tonalilty to a normal TRIG (red) and similarly a different colour is registered when a CONDITIONAL TRIG is active. Presumably there is whole spectrum of RGB values that could be used in these contexts. Furthermore a different colour could be deployed for a SOUND LOCK.

My proposal is RED for a GENERIC TRIG (as present)
ORANGE for a PARAMETER LOCK
YELLOW for a TRIGLESS TRIG (as present)
PALE PINK for a CONDITIONAL TRIG
BROWN for a SOUND LOCK

This has great potential and presumably would be supported by RGB LED hardware in the DT.

While we are about it holding the TRACK button should indicate which tracks have TRIGS and which are EMPTY much as the PATTERN button presently operates (DT 1.11).

Simple!

nudge a sequence per track forward or backward a step.

tis annoying when you record a nice riff but it starts on like step 9 or something. i know you can copy whole pages etc but it’s fiddly, complicated, and doesnt always work as expected

When you’re in recording mode, press FUNC + L/R to nudge your whole programmed sequence by 16th steps. Pretty convenient.
It gets fiddly when you need to microtime the whole thing though, haha.
