The Clone War - Behringer. Good or Bad?

I hope so.

Hate is a wrong word. Way too strong. Disdain, or whatever. But ‘hate’ is overused nowadays. Need to calm down.

No hate fits. Just right.

Its the ‘In’ word in the media atm. It has become meaningless. Need to explore a more useful word than just hate.

There is middle ground, and lots of people follow that, but let’s not both sides this.

but… isn’t the topic whether one thinks what they’re doing is bad or good? therefore “hate” (as you call any criticism of your beloved B, apparently) is on-topic.

No personal attacks please.

The topic here is on the clone war, and people’s reaction. Hate has clearly been a reaction. I stand by my post.

you’ve replied admirably to nearly everything they’ve done, and adamantly defended them. so it’s not an attack. your reaction has been love. which is fine, and still on-topic.

Mischaracterizing posts and putting words in other people’s mouth are attacks. Go back and read what i have written. I am done with defending my post.

Pot, meet kettle…

To be clear pmags, this wasn’t directed at you. Your posts make sense to me.

Point is it doesn’t matter whether Behringer gave designation of origin.

Jukka isn’t doing anything wrong, everyone can express themselves however they want. I hate to be that guy but let’s talk about “behringer” in this thread.

even though he drove the conversation this way…?

Why can’t behringer clone a steinway grand piano and sell that for $400? My living room would look great. I bet I could get a steinway sticker made on etsy to slap right over the top of the logo too.

I think we gotta just, on our own merit, take a chill pill sometimes.

Anyways, I’m off topic sorry everyone!

OK well let’s stick to B then: the Phar-O Mini is a chunk of shit and a waste of resources. lots of people love the Volca Keys but would like it to be more functional within their studio. why didn’t B embiggen it, and add better I/O for studio interfacing instead of just relying on their default “hey lookee! we can rip this off for cheap too!” schtick?

A noble spirit embiggens the smallest synth.

Worth pointing out here that Cool Audio, being an OEM benefits other synth making companies, and in consequence synth users and consumers.

  1. cloning vintage gear is good as long as they get it right.
  2. cloning existing gear some other company make is ridiculous.
  3. I don’t like Behringer gear. They make cheep looking and feeling gear, hocked to big names and history.
  4. You are out of cash? Model:Cycles is 1000 miles more interesting and contemporary than any drum machine Behringer will ever make.
