So what bus is your master out going to?
It is going out to “Speakers” aka my headphones on the laptop.
I’m not sure if this is a good way to do what you want to do. If you are using one soundcard for input and one for outputs, it may not be as easy as it would seem. I think Mac’s can use multiple soundcards.
Surly you then need to run headphones to the 18i8, not the laptop
Ok I’ll see how to hear everything on my machine through the sound card. When I set output to the interface I don’t hear anything on the headphone jacks right now (I am sure I have more fun times ahead to figure that one out).

What’s weird is that it recorded something yet I can’t hear it unless I do reveal. I don’t get that part. It can play my VSTs and show sound coming in from the interface.
Press add headphones on the bottom right of the audio settings maybe?
Because your sample player is not set up with your external soundcard.

Ok I got the interface to work as my main sound card. Still cannot hear what was recorded in the Audio 6 track. Set Bitwig to push out to my interface. Still set to master, cannot hear recording. It must be an issue with the config on the audio receiver because I can’t hear the recorded audio unless I say “reveal”. If I ever figure this out I’ll let y’all know. How does anyone else record from the interface and hear it when you push play?
Ok looks like if I open a sampler and drag and drop the recording it plays it back.(Sustained middle C in this case).
Didn’t realize I had to load it like that. Lesson learned! I am so used to just using everything internal to bitwig

You don’t need to load audio into a sampler to listen to it. Try pressing these little buttons. They will switch you from arrangement to clip mode and back.

Where is the best place to discuss BW, ask for tips from experienced users etc?
I did but for some reason that wasn’t working. I’ll load a new project and make sure it wasn’t a bad config of some kind.
Not sure but this forum is full of people that know more than we realize. The Blackbox thread for example has what I feel more content and useful advice compared to the Blackbox forum.
However if there truly is a better place I’d be curious as well!

While I’m forced into the box, can someone please save me time and tell me what the hell the difference is between that indicator when it’s in the half moon state (Trilian) and when it’s full (BFD3)?

I don’t like these touch like interfaces and here is also no colored feedback of the clip state. I think I will try a LP mini.
