Earworm-in-progress … where’s the mute option ?:zonked:

i will take my award now, please for the naming contest

i agree with the frustrating aspect of having to decide whether to hold out for the 2-xm when the proton comes out or whatnot. but the souls and spirits are cheap enough to buy without much regret and it used to be very easy to resell volcas back in the day, and once the one you really wanted actually does come out, by that time you’ll already be ready to sell that proton for the 2-xm/ub-xa/ds-80

i can see myself having a hard time figuring out how to justify my recent purchase of the ub-1 or the saturn, but it couldn’t hurt to have those voices available, no matter how limited. it’'s almost as if he’s providing us with real affordable analog versions of plugins. the hardware equivalent of free vst synths. they’re there if you need an extra voice or two. they can add interesting new timbres and expand your palette, but they may not be something you use every day, or something you use as the start of a track to build off of. i think it’s great though. if i was 16, i would get all of those mini ones. as an old man, i am still lusting after the ds-80 and 2-xm. and i kind of want the k2 and pro-1 back someday

i think of behringer synths as something we are very lucky to have available as an option. to have the ability to reach for a classic time tested rich analog voice just as an option in the studio. something you wont be tempted to sell because it cost thousands and it doesnt feel like it provides thousands of dollars worth of value to your music making process. voices you can add to your setup almost like eurorack modules, just independently sequenced, patchable, all running live on the same clock as the rest of your gear, ready if you need that ultra powerful bass of super harmonic rich saw lead.

i feel like im lucky to just be able to feel and hear what it’s like to patch a pro-1 or minimoog or arp 2600. i dont think i would have otherwise. so yeah, providing a couple of real almost identically designed voices of a matrix-100 or jupiter 8 to a kid, or anyone, for $50-$100 is a huge deal to culture and art and music creation overall. imagine if you had access to these tools as a teenager, at your most creative, for the price of a guitar pedal. 8 years ago, it would have been a microkorg for $600 or cracked Reason 5. maybe a volca sample

Where’s the body ?

Anybody else think there’s going to be a Body ? We have lots of Souls and.Spirits now, and i expect a bunch more.

Would it make sense to have a Body ? Something that you can plug in one soul and one spirit. A $50 or $100 Body .

If they eventually have a choice of 8 souls and 8 spirits, that would mean you would have 64 possibilities if you combine one soul and one spirit.

I thought they might have body parts, a heart, and a head, but i guess it will just be a body. You could imagine what might be in a body, battery power, mixer and proper signal output, and i don’t know what all.

You could have a tribe, or a community, like a pedal board, but i think it will just be a Body .

Behringer Head… sounds wierd :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

We have Behringer Brains so, liver? stomach? Oof!

Id be interested to see what a fully fledged groovebox from behringer would look like. Something with at least 8 tracks, synth & sampling capabilities.

I thought there was something like a mpc clone in the pipe ? Can’t find the source again though.

Behringer Jam I think.

Can’t wait for Behringer Butter and Behringer Toast.

A mini mixer / usb power hub and moveable magnifying glass ( like those on soldering stations ) … like something out of the movie Brazil.

Ah ! Yes…

Given the relative low price of the mpc one, maybe they abandoned this ?

You sir have won the internet for today. :joy:

This is getting deep. True though, they might be going for this. Or it might be that we’re giving them too much credit. Time will tell.

Any hole’s a goal.

Am I the only one that’s kind of “meh” about all these reveals… in all honesty how many synths can one company rehash in the same format? I get that you want to diversify your platform but at some point it just feels like maybe you should cool it a bit…

Ooh look another semi modular synth but this time cloned from “insert synth”

Ooh look a “polyphonic” semi modular synth cloned after “insert synth”… and so on

Yeah I’m with you. It’s cool that for $1000 you can buy like 10 synths that will probably sound pretty good. But I feel they are going too far.

You for sure are not the only one to feel this way, MichaalHell.

So many announcements, so many choices, of stuff you can’t order.

On the other hand …

I think all these new announcements are far less compelling because there are no audio demos.

Surely they have demo units which produce sound?

They say in their comments that they are doing videos, and that there is time for that. Several people asked them this.

Kind of weird to launch a synth without including how it sounds.
