Its missing 8 plaits engines which were introduced in the last update though
if this can hold a custom firmware it would be a nice playground for all sorts of fx, especially with some stable ai coding and therefore other uses, like polyphonic voices, delay fx and such
a bit like Korgs logue SDK if programmable
??
Well the demo videos and ridiculously low price have shoved me violently towards making an Andertons pre-order. An astonishing array of stuff to explore for a close to toy instrument price. They’ve got my money
I’m confused by lush chords and ethereal pads. How’s that now?
Plaits has a chord mode that can sound pretty lush (especially if you pile on heaps of reverb). I guess you could layer a few mono voices to make pads if you were recording into a DAW or looper. Eh, it’s also probably just marketing copy to hit synthy keywords.
I have two Plaits clones, I like Plaits, it doesn’t always blow my mind but it’s a great starting point for making a huge variety of sounds. Grind is another Plaits vessel, has some handy features, I think it’s a pretty cool idea. B politics aside, I’m in favor of more people getting to fiddle with Plaits patches (though I’d remind them you can already do this for free with VCV rack).
Oh OK. You’re way ahead of me on this. Lots of possibilities for that.
Ordered
With the sy-1, the waiting time can start.
JT-4000M - now with midi in. The coolest part is the tiny little stand the tiny little synth is sitting on during the jam.
The PPG clone boxed and ready to ship
There are a lot of Ripples clones but this design is just awful. Might be one of the worst looking panels in Eurorack I’ve seen.
I agree
I much prefer the clean brains / Victor style of modular faceplate.
The artwork should be useful / descriptive or help usability ( eg if an encoder has multiple functions there is some form of indication)
Trying to do ‘future tech’ panel artwork isn’t my thing.
I’ve always wanted mutable modules … I’ll never buy them … I’ll try vcv rack
So in continuing our quest to democratize the world of modular, and make it more accessible to the wider synth community, we’re really excited to have a lot of new modules lined up. And today we’re starting with …
from 36 seconds in
That by itself is promising to hear. They’ve quietly been working on more modules.
They’ve definitely become the Eurorack powerhouse.
Surges sounds good to me.
So an unboxing teaser, for the soon to be seen
announcement video, for the LM Drum, from Patrick, using his own YouTube channel. Sneaky.
No sounds yet. But it shouldn’t be too long.
I like the new environmentally friendly packaging !
I wonder how different it is, when they cloned the 808 909 they added a few things, sure they did the same with this
Sounds pretty good to my ears. I can’t remember if they shouted out Mutable in their Brains videos, but it’s nice to hear them acknowledge them here.
The Victor sounds pretty good going through the filter, maybe it’s time to pick one up.
Really interested to see what the new stuff is. Can we assume some more Mutable clone action?
