The last attempts at splitting off got removed within like 30 minutes. For the record (pun intended, coming up soon) I too would love an active Live discussion as well. My L3 ain’t going anywhere and I’ve been itching to get my vinyl player setup again for some sampling goodness.

It won’t get muted unless someone starts flagging a bunch. The mpc neighbourhood in the elektronauts city is like the rough part of town, but we are a welcoming and friendly bunch.

Why are there multiple threads for Logic Pro for Mac and iPad but MPC isn’t allowed to have separate ones for the Sample and higher end models? I believe there are separate Polyend Tracker threads for the Mini and regular, as well?

I’m fine with a single thread. Would be cool to be able to have separate threads but at the end of the day, it isn’t a big deal. We can coexist. The more the merrier and all that

Seems like the MPC XL has dropped a bit in price, 110 Euros less on Thomann which is kinda nice.
For midi on the Sample, I saw that empty pads can control external midi gear, but what I couldn’t figure out was how do you set the note a pad corresponds to. Is it fixed to the bank you are in, or can you set the octave the bank corresponds to somehow?
Pad A1 is fixed to C1 (MIDI note number 36), and the pads are mapped chromatically from there, so it can’t be changed.
For reference, Bank F Pad 12 is the highest note (G8), and Pad 13 wraps around to the lowest note (C-2).

Thanks. That’s what I was afraid of. I guess that means you have to be methodical with your samples if there are specific notes you want to use for midi sequences.
