The sample poly setting so so bait, you can not record chops polyphonic
The intended workflow will be to export the chops you want to their own pads - it’s good that they’re non-destructive but there are various limitations if you’re only accessing them on what is essentially the ‘Edit chops’ page.

Yea it’s an imperfect system currently - I’m hoping it gets a bit closer to how the SP handles the export (where you also get to choose which pads the chops go to).
Fingers crossed it’s a QOL improvement in the future.

I get lonely hanging out, repeatedly refreshing the Akai Force & Keys61 threads hoping someone will say something.
On the bright side I did stumble into a 20 year old MPC video.
Which I thought I had seen but I can’t remember.

Is the keys61 a failure?, hardly see them on sale however, could mean owners are keeping it because it’s a good product?
I am very satisfied, no real rush to get a live3 yet (although usb audio to iPad is my cornerstone) but I also have a desk big enough to accommodate it easily. Size is definitely a factor.
That original Benn Jordan video probably didn’t help either.
Does your MPC sample charging icon turn off? I just charged for over 2hrs and it was still on (while the device was off)
I think that the icon also means that it’s powered from USB, as well as actively charging? Not 100% sure but I’ve seen it on whenever I’ve been connected.
My charging logo turned off after a full charge while still plugged in to charger!

How long did charging take?
a little more than 2 hours for me, but it came pretty charged up when i took it out of the box. I was wondering the same thing as you after a 2 hour charge and was like im just going to keep it plugged in and see if it goes away and it did about a half hour 45 minutes later.

I heard in one of the videos charging takes 20 minutes :'D guess that was unreasonable
Not sure if this is the case with the MPC Sample but with the newer USB PD charging standards, the voltage/currents can change in response to the state of the battery, meaning that it’s conceivable that a great deal of the battery can charge in a short amount of time. Charge speed can throttle down and charge more slowly to avoid things that are bad for batteries like heat (at high state of charge), meaning that getting to 100% takes a while but getting to 80% can be done quite quickly.

the mpc live 3 arrived. god damn there is alot going on. the speaker bangs, the synths sound sick, the pads feel great. im gonna really take my time and go through the manual tomorrow but hooooboy, im excited by the possibilities.

Seriously fam, the Bible. Even for yourself who’s not a stranger to beep boop boxes. Just the simple fact that it shows you multiple ways of achieving the same thing is so useful. Like I wish many softwares came with their equivalent of the MPC Bible
