It’s a troubling new trend!
deserves its own thread
Maybe not that intrigued… ![]()
Someone just tried to take the play button from the mpc lol. I’m not even sure if they are joking because sp gang is that backwards. It’s a valid fear.
The mpc sample looks perfect to me and I don’t want Akai to listen to people that think Roland invented the 16 grid layout
Just curious what kind of music you guys make to actually need 32 GB of sample memory?
At 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo, that is roughly 54 hours of audio . That is a huge amount of sample time for any sampling groovebox workflow.
If someone really needs that much, like for orchestral libraries or film scoring, a computer probably makes more sense than a downsized MPC.
I also sometimes feel that we as consumers just want more and more specs without asking ourselves if that really what limits us from writing a track or two. Just my personal opinion.
That was me and even if I wasn’t joking, they’re not taking anything away assuming this is already manufactured. That’s just your gear fear speaking!
Dude, I’m not sure what warrants you to come here and demand people stop talking then drop insults!
This is a community with many different folks with different interests all here to discuss music and gear. We really should all work on keeping this place positive!
Nope, too late. They’re completely reworking the device as we speak basing it off of speculation from photos of their completed product.
The majority of the MPC/hiphop online community is toxic. Not here but everywhere else online it is. These guys always come out to the woodwork and start flinging insults over consumer products like Boston sports fans. Anytime a new firmware comes out its a bunch of pearl clutching about honoring some made up workflow that never existed in the first place. Hot take done, got a problem come see me in the beat battles

You dont want to run into @Naimys in a battle either! ![]()
Can anyone tell from the pictures if the buttons are hard plastic or the squishy ones? I hope hard plastic like the classics. I wonder if I’m in the minority on this one
This is a great point & something that’s not really talked about. My Force came with a 1TB SSD back in Oct 2021 & It still about 98% free. We be wanting things just to have it. 1st world problems. I remember about 10 years ago people were saying this about cameras by pointing out how the pixel-peekers or those that over focus on lenes sharpness, most of time have some of most boring photos. When I run into this in the music gear world & ask to hear their music they almost never post a link & the few that did, most of it was music that sounded great sonically but was boring & unoriginal.
Well, I guess Gearphila is a thing as well. ![]()
They look to be the same pads that are on the MPK mini 4, so soft is my guess.
They do look similar good point. Definitely not a deal breaker
Haha thanks for the vote of confidence… I’m sure there’s more than few that could take me…
I thought initially you wanted us to stop comparing it to the 404 because … that’s the greatest. Then I read all your post. You’re totally right.
Normally there are Samplers, Sequencers, and Samplers Sequencers.
To Roland’s defense, it’s called a sampler only, they can’t be sued :))
And I totally agree. A play button wouldn’t hurt ffs :)) Now you see how afraid they were to launch the MK2 and not spook the fans? It’s a shame. I really love the design and form factor of the MK2.
It’s big enough so you’re not using fingernails to press buttons, but thin enough not to occupy your whole setup.
Gas-o-phobia
The majority of the online community is toxic. ![]()
this sounds intriguing, what workflow is this?
Think they are referring to the beloved resample method haha ![]()
EDIT: My bad Think they are talking MPCs, not SPs. See myself out ![]()
