looks like all of them, was checking the live 2 and X-SE craigslist los angeles and also guitar center today they look like they are going up but also the mpc one looks like it’s creeping back up I used to see many more in the 400 range etc…
checked out this clip as well, which I dunno about the clip but some people in the comments disagreed (of course) saw one cat in japan who said even there they were all going up in price…
btw this clip is just about his personal feelings on the units, but the comment section had some insights

not that markets are actually rational but given that the MPC OS is identical (other than being MORE feature heavy on the next gen boxes) there really isn’t anything to be gained by using a 2.x model. if you don’t like the 3.x workflow (i’m guessing) you could even revert on a Live 3/XL back to 2.15
the used prices are just something I noticed while looking for a stupid deal on an mpc 2500, but I just noticed the prices for the other stuff looks like it’s headed in the wrong direction 
got my x-se used from GC for 1099. now they are 1499 to 2049… I know mine wasn’t the average price though, but around the time you could still find some for 1300-1500…
thought everything would hit bottom when the L3 and xL3 came out
maybe when they drop the new mpc one, I know I’m very interested in what that might be like.
Trying to wrap my head around it, but could it be that the market is reacting to the wild increase/shortages in ram costs? Not to say users are somehow factoring in that the ram in their device is now more valuable, but rather attempting to brace themselves for the inevitable price hikes of whatever it is they’re looking at replacing the device with.

Oh yea my local GC has a used XSE for 1799. I’m sure they added a 1TB drive on it but 1799? I think it’s the ability to roll back to 2.15 that gives it its intrinsic value .
That paint job will last for a long time.
I think that 2.15 is the MPC head’s version of an ST with Notator. If it works it works. I myself probably only work with no more than 64MB samples at a given time so I could understand that this setup is more power than I would ever use.
The new MPCs will probably have an improved OS in the future. We all gotta be patient remember how bad the 5000 was at launch ? If I get too drunk and buy an XL , I’m blaming you (jk) and probably just dealing with it’s shortcomings.

Wait a minute is that true ? Can someone verify ? Then that’s a use case for me to hit up the bars and accidentally buy an XL to roll back.

I think youll find the L3 and XL are firmware 3.6 and above…

Still wondering if the new mpcs can run the mpc2 desktop software/vst in controller mode? (Provided the user has access to the software)

It’s got ableton link which is pretty close but not exact exact. Are you using that as clock?

I knew that the projects couldn’t go back but didn’t know the firmware couldn’t… makes sense though on the 3.0 machines…

This one ain’t hard to tell & I’m not Nas. I bet it’s the fact that Akai is still supporting the old gen with OS updates, bug fixes & the Pro-Pack that offers the clip-matrix that really improves the sequencer & plus the other things from the pack.
This is first time Akai ever done this with a old gen & with how the price of RAM & other shi*t is going up, this is a great move for everybody; the customers, the company & the cosmos/earth (this kinda important).
Can we move on & start talking about something more important like 4.0
