Time for people to start sharing their creations.
Source sample was from my ST, very simple Dual VCO using Auto Sampler.
Resampled that on the Tonverk, and this is the result. No buses or clever routing yet, though lots of lock trigs.
Its like being on the spaceship from that Independence Day movie
Hey peeps, it’s fine that you post your Tonverk creations here, as long as your’re not late with your Syntakt Science Labs assignments! ![]()
No seriously, nice sounds @verdurin Congrats on the TV both of you, and have fun! This is the only TV thread I’m not muting ![]()
First track I’ve heard out of the Tonverk that has made me sit up and think ‘oh, maybe this could work for me’… nice one!
I think it’s also the first track I’ve heard that has used acoustic drum samples in a way I’d expect to hear on the DT. All the demos I’ve heard so far have been more in the bleepy bloop zone or rip-your-face-off distortion. Nothing wrong with that, but I do love a bit of downtempo acoustic drumming.
Not being able to set individual send FX levels for individual drums in a Sub track feels to me like a shortcoming (eg can’t send just hi hat into delay) but hopefully that will be addressed in a future firmware update.
Either way, thanks for this… I’ve not had any GAS for the TV so far, but you’ve just planted the first thought in my head that, maybe, one day…
swinging some retrigs, plinking some plonks:
a simple beat routed out and back into the TV via cables to make some heavy feedbac (with fx):
some ambienty thing:
That feedback texture is so fucking cool
This sounds great ![]()
There definitely appears to be a more 3 dimensional sound sonically (obvs attributed to the polyphony/stereo/effects) and it seems to translate to a more ‘mastered’ and rounded sound overall.
How fast or slow is it to troubleshoot anything after being deep in the sauce after a few hours, or the next day? Can you solo or mute and zero in on a naughty behavior relatively quickly?
This is a general question for the thread
These sound great also. Appears to have more space both in stereo, and front and back, if that makes sense!
Great track here!
This is what I wanted to hear from the demo and videos. To me this describes how beautiful it can sound and sometimes simple is brilliant. Well done. I can listen to this all day
really nice sounds.
These all sound goregous. Thanks for posting everyone. Can imagine it being an amazing machine for sound design. Especially when connected with other boxes.
TV spherical sounds
Do all the FX on the Tonverk sound different than they do on the DN2? I’m especially curious about the distortion/overdrive, comb filter, and delay.
Thank you ![]()
- Dirtshaper’s overdrive sounds different to Degrader’s overdrive
- Comb Filter is a dual combfilter (but might be otherwise the same or similar)
- Daisy Delay is a different Delay than Saturator Delay
- Rumsklang is a different Reverb than Supevoid
But in general they all sound different even if they are the same, since they can be modulated.
How does it compare to the Octatrack sound? Are they different in any way. The OT came under a lot of criticism unfairly i felt.
